Hm... now imagine that happened a few years ago with D&D4...
Swords & Wizardry & Manga ... oh my.

Well hell, I wish the Seattle Seahawks would win the next 10 Superbowls. That's ridiculous, just as ridiculous as your wish.

I asked him at CircvsMaxmivs and he says he is not on this board at all anymore after he was banned as The Rooster and that GamerGoyf is not him.

I am inclined to believe him and assume my memory was faulty, unless an IP check shows them to be the same person.

D&D already has its eternal and definitive version: 3e and its subtractive/additive variants. Public domain trumps all as any theater company performing Shakespeare for the gillionth time will tell you.

Me, I don't mind the edition treadmill. It mixes things up, stimulates improvisation, and I'm ok with dropping a moderate bundle of money on one of my few hobbies every couple of years. I know they weren't for everyone, but to me and most of my regular stable of players 3e and 4e did feel like an interesting and acceptable progression. We certainly didn't feel betrayed and we'll move into 5e with minimum fuss.

This made me laugh out loud. :rotfl:
Grając zaś w grę komputerową, być może zdarzyło się wam zapragnąć zejść z wyznaczonej przez autorów ścieżki i, miast zabić smoka i ożenić się z księżniczką, zabić księżniczkę i ożenić się ze smokiem.

Good.

We can now move on and just assume any crazy coming from gamergoyf is his alone. ;)

Plus this is kind of how it's always been.  Rules, especially complex and creative ones like D&D have been in flux since the get go.  The evolution from D&D to Advanced D&D, for instance.  Numerous D&D rules in Dragon, etc.

I don't think it's the nature of this hobby for people to say "okay, that's it".
Just some background on myself

Next is like the rorschach test of RPGs.

That's because your all a bunch of dumb fucks who can't remember yesterday, let alone today.  It was in some damn announcement when they first spouted it, I can't find it now, it's fuckin' ages old now, but of course I'm the only one that remembers on here cause the rest of you drink piss water evidently daily.

Her this is the video of what I watched back in 2012 by WoTC on Next.  It is confusing to me back then so, ehh.  Maybe I just remember it wrong but they do mention AD&D 2e modularaty in the game, so after re-watching I still don't understand it.

Hes meaning modularity in a sort of pick-n-choose format. Use what you want. And also being modularly versatile enough out of the box to get alot of different settings.

Also modular in that it can be used for dungeon crawls, Role play, and storytelling, lethal or safe, zero to hero or team snowflake.

Though Im not seeing some of the modularity he mentions such as variable levels of interpreting HP based on intended playstyle, etc.

They've said the next thing they are working on is those modules.  None are in the playtest yet.

Yes.  And they will work about as well as Cadillac's L62 V8-6-4 engine did...

Holy shit, that was me! If you're referring to what I think you are, I was the questioner who asked about the dangers of modularity compared to older editions and the ghost of 3rd ed (Pathfinder). My friends thought the answers were a little evasive.

I'll explain what I meant and what I took from it if you like.

Oops, never mind, I'm the guy who starts talking at 43:18 in the video linked (the questions right after the ones that were selected for that post).

Yet?

They never will be. The public playtest is over. The module stuff will only be tested by in-house focus groups.

Even the broadest modular support will never have external eyes on it before it sees print. What could go wrong?
