This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Where can I find out about the ENNIE-Winners?

So far, GenCon shines for its awards above all:

1. Stafford gets Diana Jones Award.

2. OHT and Zach get Ennie and judge nomination.

Heartfelt congrats to all you awesome persons!

The Great Pendragon Campaign definitely deserved that award (not that it matters much, like every other RPG award the Jones Award is deeply flawed, but the GPC is an AWESOME product, one of the game books I've bought in years).

To think that Stafford's running his Pendragon campaign within commuting distance from me...

I suck for not shooting him an email!!!

If he runs games anywhere near as good as he writes, you MUST go and plead or beg to be in on that.

Thanks! :D

I'll have to pick up the Pendragon campaign at some point. I've been looking at it for a while. Just have to get the funds together first...

RPGPundit

He's supposed to be spectacular. Interesting fact: He seems to divide his RPG interests among the games he runs. The HeroQuest campaign is all about high-concept story, but in the Pendragon game you can fall off your horse and die in the mud.

The real issue is: What if you get to play in GREG STAFFORD'S PENDRAGON CAMPAIGN... and then he kicks you out coz he thinks you're boring?

Where do you go from there?

Obviously, you'd sell your RPG collection the next day, move to another town, and start playing Bridge.

Zachary The First

Well, pretty obviously I owe a lot of thanks to my blogging friends, those who took the time to read my Q&A, and clearly, to the Prussian and Uruguayan voting blocs, who came up big.  :D

Again, I'll do my best to be as honest, straightforward, and quality-focused a judge as I can be.  I promise there are no free passes for any company, author, or writer inasmuch as I have a say in things.  Quality and awesome are what matters. :)

Also, congrats to Dan.  Well-deserved Gold, sir, well-deserved!

Thank you! And thanks for the support!

Man, I already have about 2 boxes' worth of product to review.  And I have a whole year ahead of this.  I'm excited, but wow.

Well, wear a helmet, a large falling stack of books can be pretty bad. the GM would be rolling d20's for damage on that, I think. :D

Congrats, man!  But really - I am stunned how much work goes into this kind of thing.  I've chatted with Teflon Billy about it on a few occasions, and really - make sure you clear your reading schedule. ;)

At least this year, you can start right after gencon.

One year we started in April. That was a bitch.
The Secret Volcano Base: my intermittently updated RPG blog.

Running: Pathfinder Scarred Lands, Mutants & Masterminds, Masks, Starfinder, Bulldogs!
Playing: Sigh. Nothing.
Planning: Some Cyberpunk thing, system TBD.

The other fansites were excellent though, so I considered it an honour for us just to be nominated.

Perhaps if RPGPundit had slammed LF as much as he slammed WFRP Companion, we might have gotten enough votes for the win. :D

I can't even imagine.  I'd better not bitch too much, especially when I have a whole year, compared to 3 months!
