This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Enh.

The first TSR building has a certain charm.

But compared to TSR 2 and WOTC the Renton bus terminal's schlock classicism shines brightly.

Renton = ugly.

The whole city is made of warehouses, although lately the shopping mall is has been getting kinda yuppy.
That\'s pretty much how post modernism works. Keep dismissing details until there is nothing left, and then declare that it meant nothing all along. --John Morrow

clyde caldwell's photo was fun, too.  tough-guy GI joe beard + standard 80s hair!  :haw:

the original tsr building has charm.  the others are just modern american corporate park blah.  i guess that's par for the course, tho.  not much call for individualizing an office building.

Just?
I think your aesthetics are all fucked up.

The greatest Economy in the world, and you don´t get fuzzy feelings when you see functional buildings that move the world?
The second TSRs Loading areas made me all bouncy. Imagine TRUCKLOADS of AD&D stuff.
TRUCKLOADS!

Mmm.
Gone are the days in which a smoking stack was a sign of progress.
The youth has gotten all romantic over some faux facades...

Are all Germans like you Sett?  My in-laws are German immigrants (to America in the 50's), and they seem to think differently.  I like your version better...

The first thing that jumped out at me was those loading docks and the thought of all those AD&D books. I'd be willing to bet it was one of the main reasons they moved - having to ship so much product forced the need for a warehouse and shipping facilities.

Hell no. Affirmative embrace of ugliness as badge of difference or (if we're lucky) thoughtful strategy is just a phase.

I think that industrial parks can be kind of cool, from a certain angle. I know some of my favorite scenes where I live are refineries and industrial complexes, complete with sky-borne piping, huge smoke and steam stacks, and gleaming red lights on iron scaffolding. The sense of scale is immense. And I think metal stuff is cool.
God in the Machine.

Here's my website. It's defunct, but there's gaming stuff on it. Much of it's missing. Sorry.

I've got a blog. Do you read other people's blogs? I dunno. You can say hi if you want, though, I don't mind company. It's not all gaming, though; you run the risk of running into my RL shit.

kind of cool from a gaming setting angle, maybe.  easy to define and run with.  but aesthetically?  :barf:
