SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Outrageous!

Quote from: CalithenaIs there a focus to therpgsite?
My focus is "it is a lot like RPGNet was about three years ago". I liked RPGNet three years ago, so here I am. That, plus this is a site with a healthy amount of respect for actually playing your games. As much as I like to discuss RPG theory (as long as it is applicable theory instead of basically meaningless taxonomies), there is something to be said for a forum focused on actually playing and enjoying the damn things.

Yeah.

So, welcome to TheRPGSite, and greetings from sunny Katowice! :haw:

I´m stil catching up on getting to know all those forae Old Timers, so excuse my asking:

Calithena, who are you?
If there can\'t be a TPK against the will of the players it\'s not an RPG.- Pierce Inverarity

Name's Sean, gaming since 1977. I first started pissing away time on the internet talking about games on the Tekumel Yahoogroup in I think '98 or '99, and then at the Necromancer Games boards around when 3e came out, which is where I met Melan and ColonelHardisson and Mythusmage and some other folks I respect around here. Migrated from Necro to rpg.net when I started to get sick of 3e, then to the Forge when I wanted to figure out what those games and theories were all about, and at about the same time to Dragonsfoot.

I have minor credits in a few published game products, but mostly I just like to gab about games. I think my most useful contributions to conversations often relate to the history of D&D, about which I know more than most people.

But you don´t have a hate-on for "TETSNBN" like many fellas over there at DF?

I went through four phases with 3e:

1) Excitement.
2) Frustration.
3) Hate.
4) Acceptance, and even a sense that there are some things they did that I think are neat add-ons to the old game, and would like to incorporate into my D&D-style games in the future, though that doesn't mean I'm going to start playing 3.x again any time in the future.

Quote from: BalbinusAlso, from what I saw recently at a con, the indie guys tend to be in better shape than the more traditional gamers.  I make no further comment on that though...

A few jokes about this, and not one insinuating that "indie guys" are gay...you know, based on the stereotype that gay guys are in better shape than straight guys.

I am severely disappointed with you people.

Well, they certainly aren't better dressers, so that one would have been completely unbelievable.

The last person to use gay as a pejoritive here was quickly villified.
