They are including the old 1-9 spell levels and the old spell list.

Incorrect! First level spells make the game completely unplayable for non-wizard classes. Sleep and charm person break the game unless you rewrite fighters to give them Wuxia powers like "Control GM" and "Cripple Magic-User" or "Omnipotence".
