That's the part I found more interesting, I think it'll be a great campaign book (IF I can convince the wife I need more books).

I sure think it will be. Tons of support material (random tables & guidelines) for sandboxing in it.

I now very badly want to have my players fight a giant toad. Preferably whilst thinking it is a dragon, and consequently being confused about the odd lack of fire breathing. Likewise, now considering Lion and Dragon, Dark Albion, and Baptism of Fire and the like for purchases once again. Will have to check once more for buy-in and interest within my gaming group and friend circles at some point.

Unrelatedly, I think you may well be spot on as regards the impending collapse of basic WotC employee competency. They seem to be actively working to destroy that on their own, which is baffling to me, but I guess sort of makes sense within appropriate context.

Thank you very much! I think you'd enjoy my books, and remember if you run other editions of D&D you can still port over a lot of stuff, and much of the setting books (Dark Albion, Sword & Caravan, the setting part of Baptism of Fire) are largely system neutral.

I am really looking forward to "Baptism". As soon as that book drops, the money will be spent. Historica rpgs are my favorite.

I appreciate that. Unfortunately, the art continues to be slowing things down. But it's a question of time, it's coming...

Basic employee incompetence leading to mass layoffs isn't limited to Hasbro by any stretch. Twitch just announced major layoffs, along with many other tech companies.

When the economy is good-ish, companies can play around with diversity hires and other flunkies taking up space, producing nothing of value and wasting years with revolving meetings in exchange for ESG virtue points from Blackrock.

But when recession hits...the CFO hits the alarm button and the company goes lean and mean to ensure the top-line profits are maintained.

Sure, except most companies try to fire their most incompetent or useless people. But instead, WotC just fired the majority of the few remaining people in their company that knew anything at all about designing games, and kept all the idiot diversity hires.
