This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What setting/property should D6 go for?

Trion owns Defiance alongside syfy and i cant see them being interested in licencing the universe out to a tabletop game that would instantly prove far superior to their trainwreck of a game(the show has been cancelled)....Dark Matter and Killjoys i could see working well though, or heck Farscape should be cheap these days or Babylon 5

Does it? AFAIK Firefly is a Cortex+ game. And Serenity was Cortex.

Could be. Honestly, I can't tell the difference between the two (three, whatever), which suggests to me they're doing a bad marketing job at communicating their identity to me, the potential customer.

Cortex Plus might be one of my favorite systems and yes you are right. Margaret Weis Publications has totally dropped the ball with support for this system. Apparently there is a Kickstarter impending for the Action and Heroic flavours but I'll believe it when I see it.

Back to the topic. Crimson Skies was mentioned. I would immediately buy it. Another setting that could be nice is Ringworld.

If the D6 system was good, it wouldn't need a setting to get players to buy it.

Man, you are such a bitter man.

So what you're saying is that any system that comes with a setting sux?  D&D, HERO System, GURPS, Savage Worlds, Palladium, Dragon Warrior, Runequest...  All these and more are terrible systems?

Really?  Seriously?  Wow...  Just...  Wow.

Since when did HERO, GURPS and Savage Worlds come with a setting?  They're all generic toolkit systems.

Champions, Fantasy Trip (I believe the name was) and Deadlands, were all the precursors, or intended settings, for those systems.

Quote from: Technomancer;892069Would it be crazy if they teamed up with SyFy and put out stuff for all the cool SyFy series like Dark Matter, Killjoys, Defiance, The Expanse, even Z Nation?

Since Dark Matter is based on a comic by Dark Horse, and The Expanse is based on a series of novels, I doubt SyFy could license those 2 properties out. Killjoys would be nice, but I wouldn't mind seeing them come up with something on their own.

Maese Mateo

I'd prefer them to create their own settings/games inspired by Z or X peroperty rather than a straight game for Z or X property.

Maybe they could do some of the old amazing engine stuff. Bughunters, Magitech, Kromosome, etc.
