This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Your Memorable Games?

I enjoy playing with new people at my LGS whether it be the wargamers that usually keep to their own groups, dads looking to buy their son a new board game, the newest teenage inductee into the hamster-wheel of Warhammer, or the folks that bring new and obscure boardgames/TTRPG's to try out at the store; The last group are my favorite.

If you play with strangers at the gaming table and have an interesting story, I'd like to know! Was it a particular in-game event? A great GM? Maybe an unrelated event at the con/store the game was hosted at?

My Memorable Game

One of my memorable sessions was when one of the players had a slick EDF costume going since it was right around halloween then, and was reciting the catchphrase's every time he got a kill; The memorable bit was the GM improvising a giant ant encounter for the guy even though the session took place in an abandoned and frozen over skyscraper. Up until this point we were avoiding and slipping past time-worn but functional security turrets and killing giant lizard and bat like creatures made up entirely of ice, So the next bit was a fun surprise.

"As you repair the elevator console, you hear the sound of a half-working alarm along with loud clattering coming from higher up the elevator shaft; An automated intercom blares and informs you that you have activated the building's robotic security system: The Advanced Nueronet Tresspasser Solutions Killbot by ExoArmor Labs, Waist-high robotic ants specialising in anti-personnel operations. They are currently making their way down to your location en masse, what do you do?"

A stray bullet from the team's LMG specialist caused the elevator to shoot down the elevator shaft, being forever inaccessable; after surviving the encounter with bruises only a few serious wounds to show for the battle, We had to thaw our way through to the stairs to ascend any further up, and that was the session!

18 player G1 and G2 session at GenCon in the early 2000s with folks from ENWorld and Nutkinland, even had a few 'celebs' join as well.

Randomly generated characters, celestial elephants stampeding over hill giants, fireballs setting buildings on fire, absolutely chaotic scene of mass combat and carnage.

Loved every minute of it.
