This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What RPG would you want to see?

Fullmetal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, a Hellboy game that wasn't GURPS, Heroes, and I'll second Mongoose Traveller Firefly (I'm gonna try and put something like that together myself when this semester's over).

Oh, and Push wasn't that great of a movie, but I bet it would make an awesome RPG.

Balbinus

Maybe that Stephen Brust stuff, or the Malazan stuff.

I wouldn't buy it, but it would make an awful lot of folk happy.

Otherwise, Law and Order, as a traditional rpg and not a Forge one.

Nihilistic Mind

Quote from: J Arcane;290012This game came very very close to being a Holmes RPG.  Honestly you could probably use the cases therein as game campaigns.

Thanks! I'll look into it!
Running:
Dungeon Crawl Classics (influences: Elric vs. Mythos, Darkest Dungeon, Castlevania).
DCC In Space!
Star Wars with homemade ruleset (Roll&Keep type system).

Gunslinger

A bubble gummy rules light G.I. Joe RPG box set would be nice.  It makes way too much sense to ever happen.  A Hasbro license with a movie coming out soon.

Drohem

The Majipoor Chronicles by Robert Silverberg.

I'd like to see one for the Temeraire series because that's what I'm playing now.

I'm not sure I'd play them, but for the good of the hobby, I'd like to see some RPGs based on popular kids series: a solid fantasy RPG of Harry Potter, and an edgy White-Wolf-like RPG of Twilight.

Pseudoephedrine

I want Tales of New Crobuzon, but it's looking like vapourware.
Running
The Pernicious Light, or The Wreckers of Sword Island;
A Goblin\'s Progress, or Of Cannons and Canons;
An Oration on the Dignity of Tash, or On the Elves and Their Lies
All for S&W Complete
Playing: Dark Heresy, WFRP 2e

Narf the Mouse

The main problem with government is the difficulty of pressing charges against its directors.

Given a choice of two out of three M&Ms, the human brain subconsciously tries to justify the two M&Ms chosen as being superior to the M&M not chosen.

I wouldn't mind seeing a game based on the Supernatural television show. There may even be one coming out, but I can't remember if that was wishful thinking or now. I just like the show and think it'd make a fun setting.

I love the setting for Bladerunner too. Movie, book.... whichever. Cyberpunk sorta came close, but not quite. A dying earth. Off-world colonies. Radiation fallout every day. Weird animal cloning cults and odd religions. Over-bearing corporations. Androids. Sure, there's plenty of games that stole a shit-ton of ideas out of Bladerunner (in addition to many other books by Phillip K. Dick and stuff).

The Neo-Tokyo in Akira might be fun if all the PCs made one biker gang. Well, it'd by a hyper-specialized game in that regard. This IS a wish-list, so reality isn't needed here. So shhhh.

;)

An Akira game based on the manga, and minus the uber-psychics (there are a lot of lower level psychics that shouldn't be such a problem... pretty much everybody but kaneda, akira, and the three kids...) would be really freaking awesome. There might be separate setting write ups for pre and post destruction tokyo for that too.

I've said a version of this in various other threads : "LOST".

You might not be able to get that exactly ...but something that gets the whacky /over-the-topness of it all in a role playing game would be fun.

That show is best looked at as an RPG campaign that was meant to be a one-off , except the players begged the GM to turn it into a campaign. The tail section survivors was a back up campaign group that merged with the main bunch . The "others" and DHARMA initiative plots was nortes from an older campaign that ghot re-booted and re-used in the present campaign.  (I've done a more complete version of this monologue before and at the store....)

Wouldn't this game just involve having a bunch of random plot, setting and device tables that make no sense and rolling them over and over again until the campaign became unprofitable?

I'd seen that game before. I think it was the Twin Peaks and X-Files RPGs.
