So, is there some tv show, movie, comic, novel, etc that you would particularly want to see in RPG format at this time? Why?
Dead by Daylight would be an interesting adaption. Basically it's a video game where one player plays a serial killer and the others play victims.
Why? I have no idea, other than I have a co-worker that constantly talks about it and was fresh in my mind.
More Serenity. Before Cortex+ Hack (whatever it's called) ruined it. See Firefly.
I would like to see SPACE: 1889 as a TV show. But that is the reverse of what you were asking.
I'd like a 5e D&D based adaptation for Game of Thrones, much the same thing AiME did with 5e for Middle Earth. I have the A Song of Ice & Fire RPG books but I'm too lazy to learn their house system.
Of course they would need to add lingering injuries and change the hit point by level mechanic - start with CON+class bonus and add +1 per level say, which is about what Mongoose did with d20 Starship Troopers. No GoT character has 200 hit points, unless they're a dragon.

I've been looking at doing something similar, replacing the Death Save with a roll on the Lingering Injury Table from the 5e DMG. As for hp, I'm gently, gently easing my guys into the idea that after 9th level they'll only be getting their con bonus in hp.

Nice thought! I'd also like to see 5E done in other settings or eras, such as 5E Space, so that I could run my own scifi campaigns without having to go rebuild the rules for the future instead of for fantasy.
Most of mine are being done but
Conan (Mythras)
Lankhmar (Mythras)
Mass Effect (Genesys)
Eberron (Genesys)
Jade Empire (Genesys)
Eternal Champion and subsets (Mythras)
Birthright (mmm not sure)
The Expanse (M-Space/Mythras)
The Snow Spider
Brotherhood of the Wolf. Apart from adapting it within a generic RPG (GURPS or SW), the closest game that would probably fit it is Colonial Gothic.
In no particular order... (adding as I think of more)
Avatar the Last Air-Bender
Crimson Skies
Overwatch
Dune
Marvel Universe
Tokusatsu RPG - Kikaider, Kamen Rider, Garo - all in one big game!
World of Warcraft
Joe Abercrombie's "First Law" series
R. Scott Bakkers "Prince of Nothing" series
Mad Max
Full Metal Alchemist
City of Heroes
Streetfighter
2000AD comics
Metabarons
Grendel-verse (comics)
Getting the Stormbringer stuff back in print would be nice.
I really like the 2nd ed stuff really, so it wouldn't be hard to revisit that work, spruce it up a bit.
It could be a worthy KS, which I would support.
James H. Schmitz's SF works---Federation of the Hub, Vega, Karres, etc.: classic SF stories that make me want to play in his worlds!
Allan.
I would really like to see a decent adaptation of Farscape. I know there was a D20 splat, but I don't really count that. We have lots of gonzo fantasy, but we don't have a lot of gonzo semi serious but bizarre scifi. Long live Dominar Rygel.
I also really enjoyed Dark*Matter the TV series. It felt a lot like Farscape, but a lot more human centered.
An update to Stargate that covers all of SG-1, Atlantis and Stargate Universe.

This. A thousand times this.
I'd like to see a proper BPRD / Hellboy / Mignola-verse RPG.
I think a Tarzan RPG could also be fun.

I would love to see that. I'd also love to see new lines of less narrative games for Star Trek and Star Wars.

Dark Matter was great. I didn't even mind the several times they ripped off STTNG.
The characters were well-developed and that final cliffhanger was...
I recently finished reading Karl Schroeder's Virga series and it pretty much cries out to be an RPG setting.

Metabarons is a game already. What are you looking for?
I would pay good money to see a game set in the world(s) of Stephen King's "Dark Tower" universe.

Yes. 1st Ed Stormbringer is a game I've a lot of fun and badwrongfun with over the years. Remember that Games Workshop hardcover back in the 80s that looked
beautiful but fell apart as soon as you looked at it? I want want an exact reprint of that, except without the binding issues. Not holding my breath, alas. We'll get cold fusion flying cars and a trans atheist president first.

Use Lion & Dragon.
Nothing. As a general rule of thumb, I don't enjoy RPG settings directly translated from other media.

I think after Michael Moorcock spent years in a legal battle to make Chaosium cease and desist using his IP without compensation, that you probably won't see Stormbringer come back anytime soon. At least not while MM is still alive.
Lois McMaster Bujold's "World of the Five Gods". (Curse of Chalion, Paladin of Souls, the Penric novellas, et al)
Best motherfucking fantasy I've motherfucking read in 40 motherfucking years.
I'd be sorely tempted by He-Man and the Masters of the Universe ... but I don't know that I trust anyone else to do it 'right', meaning with the precise style and flavor I want. :D (And even if they did, finding players who got the franchise on the same wavelength as I did would be just as difficult, if not moreso.)

That would be pretty cool. Going back a little earlier you could add Thundarr the Barbarian or Blackstar to the Mix.
The aforementioned Dark Tower could be cool. I think I have a PDF where someone hacked it out of something d100, which would be handy since in my head canon, I place it on the same world as Hawkmoon.
Other properties I wouldn't mind seeing include X-Files, Ghost in the Shell, or some wide ranging Science Fiction covering the major works of Asimov (Robot, Empire and Foundation), Larry Niven's known Universe (yes I know Ringworld existed), and or Robert Heinlein's Expanded Universe.
Quote from: Tetsubo;1023607Metabarons is a game already. What are you looking for?
I want a modern supported rendition of it. That's all. The D6 edition is fine - but you know. I wants it shiny and new.
I'd like to see Made In Abyss, at least as a sourcebook. It has a really interesting setting.
I would like to see something like Jonathan Strouds Lockwood series.
Conan (BRP, Savage Worlds, 5e, unique genre appropriate system). The 2d20/Mutant Chronicles 3ed version was a joke.

Sadly I bought a ticket to that comedy show.
I'd like to see an RPG based on what was going to come after Independence Day Resurgence. That could have been kickass.
Maybe it would have been more than a bit plagiarising of Stargate SG-1, but it had potential. Something where the exploration of Star Trek, the man to man action of Aliens, and the space opera starfighter battles of Star Wars played out by characters from Top Gun or Iron Eagle. All of that with none of the baggage those other franchises have.
How about an RPG of what happened after The Last Starfighter?
A setting book for running David Gemmel's world of the Drenai Saga using Barbarians of Lemuria.
I want the legal issues with the Ringworld RPG to get cleared up and the game reissued with expansions for Known Space.
I want a Babylon 5 license to be given to a cabal of Cepheus Engine authors in order to show how a Travelleresque ruleset can be done right with the setting.
Quote from: HappyDaze;1048522Sadly I bought a ticket to that comedy show.
Can someone explain why this is so bad? Been thinking of getting it.
Dagny's World, the "powered by the Apocolypse" RPG based on Atlas Shrugged.
Just to see heads explode.

I like this post a lot.
Jerry Pournelle's Future History. From the CoDominium (Falkenberg) through the First Empire, the following dark age, and the Second Empire (Mote in God's Eye).

Yes, I remember it. It was very pretty and yes! mine fell apart too lol.
We may ass a new edition of Stormbringer one day, but sadly, unlikely a reprint of those old issues of Stormbringer.
Quote from: Gunslinger;1048570A setting book for running David Gemmel's world of the Drenai Saga using Barbarians of Lemuria.
I would love to see a Drenai setting book. :)
I don't know the Barbarians of Lemuria RPG though.
Quote from: Tamidor Winddancer;1048491I would like to see something like Jonathan Strouds Lockwood series.
What is that?
A few. But having done three of these so far, and collaborated on a fourth, I can tell you flat out that IP based games are anywhere from a pain in the ass to a nightmare.
Allways have a back-up plan. Licenses can go total south without warning.
I truly regret that Mongoose's project of publishing a Conan supplement for MRQ2 never saw the light of day. Mongoose had quality issues (sure it did), but I liked their version of Elric.
Song of Ice and Fire would be great with a 1d100 system too.

I'd say an OSR Game of Thrones, but we've already got Lion & Dragon/Dark Albion, so...
