This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What is your favorite craziest-concept game?

I don't care if you don't play it or don't like the rules. What is the craziest game that you positively love? Me, I think Underground from Mayfair is a hoot (let's all have some Estro-Gin:)). Red Dwarf is cool just because of how cool the BBC series is.

What other craziness is out there? (no warhammer 40k or d20 derivatives).

A game my brother bought back in the day, so I could run it.  I still have it, I dug it out because of the Erick Wujcik in LA thread. It's in pretty good shape.

The unintended humor is awesome. One funny table is the 'Psychosis' insanity table, where a roll of 86-00 is 'Become a psychiatrist'!

Is that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

QuoteDoes My Life with Master count?
That's a tough one. I think I'd have to say no, because it is pretty limited. I can't see campaign play. And while I didn't state it, I think campaign play is something that further extends the craziness of the game. Take GhostBusters, for example. Wild and whacky, but you can keep playing it.

I'm going to have to go with "45 Psychobilly Retropocalypse" from Postmortem studios: Gamma World and the Creature from the Black Lagoon go on a double date with Elvis and Betty Page. On their way to Sun Records, they stop for a malt at the Atomic Cafe.

I need an emoticon for the "devil horns" hand symbol.

Dr Rotwang!

I want to give Encounter Critical some cookies and a nice, big mug cocoa every time we meet.

Also, Og sounded like lotsa fun.  Oh, and one time, I came up with an idea for a game where you play aliens, coming to Earth, to abduct people and salvage jobs botched  by other teams.  Never did anything with it, but it sure was funny to think of in the bathroom!

I'd play that. In a goddamn heartbeat. Might hijack the broad concept and weld a more comedic ORE variant onto it for one-shot hilarity. That alright with you, chief?
Heroism is no more than a chapter in a tale of submission.

Encounter Critical is great.  I also think Low Life is freaky in a good way.

More explicitly, I'm confirming that you would in no way feel ripped off, stolen from, or otherwise put out if I were to use the concept of

, played via the Nemesis/Godlike* engine (but made...funnier), as a kind of Destroy All Humans!/Invader Zim/Spaced Invaders game for when my entire group cannot meet. Extra-terrestrial hilarity! And so forth.

Well, does this "ORE" have True Scientific Realism? I think not!

Dr Rotwang!

Oh!  Oh, oh oh!  Okay, got it now.  That's what I thought you meant but I wasn't sure.  Mostly, I wasn't sure why you were asking if you could use the One-Roll Engine with it.

Pssssh.  Yeah, man, go ahead, get down.  You can run it with freakin' Tiddlywinks if you can figure out how, I'm not gonna feel anything but glad my idea was useful.

Indeed it does not.  But my tie says it's OK.

True Scientific Realism is for physics wonks and armchair engineers. If you can't fix an in-game technological problem with the Five Great Repair Routines*, I don't need it!

*1) Push the buttons harder.
2) Give it a whack.
3) Reverse the polarity.
4) Reboot/reinitialize/recalibrate it...you know, turn it off and on again really fast.
5) Hit it again, but harder. If it's bigger than a bar fridge, kick it.
