What game material have you purchased lately?

I  backed 2D6 Dungeons on kickstarter. I like the idea of Solo RPGs and dungeon crawls with lots of tables to roll on. I played the free version of the rules and really enjoyed it as a little time waster.

I'm really getting into these solo dungeon crawling games. I've played Four Against the Darkness which I liked. And D100 Dungeons which I found to be a clunky mess with far too much to memorize for a solo RPG. My favorite so far though has to be NoteQuest due to the included rules for overworld hex crawling and world generation.

You can create it for either. The program has presets for map sizes based on paper size or "unrestricted" for digital maps.

Great to know

It really is... and you can get quite intricate with your lighting and animation effects. Just watch the first 44 seconds of this (after that it gets into a technical tutorial) for the sort of things you can link to attack and spell actions.

That is nice.  When I have a chance I am going to check it out.

At GaryCon I bought a bunch of DCC stuff and a neat set of metal dice. (The dice are metal but in the same color scheme as my cheap plastic 70's OD&D dice, so yellow d4 and orange d6, and so on.)

My only purchase in a while has been the Savage Worlds Fantasy Companion in PDF. I'm deep in my own development right now, and aren't looking for new material.

How is it? I am assuming thats the new one for SWADE?  I am thinking about picking that up myself.

I haven't finished reading through it yet, but I'm underwhelmed so far. I don't want to say much more until I fully read it, though.

I have heard good things about SWADE Pathfinder.

I bought some B/X, and AD&D reprints with the intent of running them for my game at work (running OSE for them): X1 Isle of Dread, X2 Castle Amber, B3 Palace of the Silver Princess, I6 Ravenloft, Against the Slave Lords (A1-4), AC 9 The Shady Dragon Inn.

While I was travelling I stopped at a Game store in Kansas City and snagged a copy of Zed and Two Naughts, a 0 level adventure for OSE.  I also bought Wizardzine which I have yet to read.

From Ebay, I got a boxed set of Wilderness Survival, the old game from 1974, and will be using the map for my B/X game.

I bought a coly of Tales of the Dying Earth by Jack Vance. A collection of his Dying Earth stories.  I guess you could say that it is game related.

My wife bought a hoard of miniatures (which she loves to paint, and collect)

And finally, a wet/dry erase folding map board that I use as a battle mat and map for my games.

This is stuff from the past couple months.  Some of them are crowdfunded from a while ago that I just received, some is stuff I backed and am waiting to get, some of them are actual physical books I just went and bought.

Trophy: Dark, Loom and Gold – RPG about doomed treasure hunters braving a cursed forest.  Core book, Setting Book and Book for old school campaign style play.  I bought the 3 books and I'm currently reading them with the plan to run it at GenCon for some friends

The Lost and the Jammed – A dungeon-crawling, gun slinging RPG.  Think Enter the Gungeon if you know what that is.  I've read it but not sure if I can get my players to give it a shot.

Vermin 2047 Survival Kit – A fancy quickstart w/ GM screen, it's a post-apoc game with 3 levels of play: Survival- normal people, normal end of the world; Nightmare with a pinch of fiction and supernatural elements; Apocalypse with full on monsters, mutations and powers. I love Studio Agate and their material and I'm working up a short campaign for this but really want a full release for it.

Into the Cess and Citidel – Fantasy urban survival setting, mostly system neutral.  Got it mostly to raid for ideas for an upcoming campaign.

Shadowdark – 5E/OSE mashup.  One of the other guys in my circle plans to run this once it's fully out.

Castaway – Island survival game using Mork Borg rules.  I really like survival-style video games and this one had me curious what they could do with that sort of thing.

BESM Uresia: Grave of Heaven – Pure anime fantasy.  I have the old edition and love the setting, but I probably won't ever get to run or play this one.

Syma: Incense and Iron – Dark fantasy based on the history of Iberian Peninsula and games like Elden Ring.  I have a plan to run a short campaign this fall, we'll see if it pulls together.

Cities Without Number – Cyberpunk.  I don't know if I'll get to run it.  My group really likes Cyberpunk 2020 so it's going to be hard to get them to give a different system a go.  I guess it depends on how the Worlds Without Number campaign this summer goes.

Yoon-Suin: The Purple Land 2E – Sandbox campaign setting of ancient mysteries, opium smoke, great luxury and opulent cruelty.  I'm mostly getting this for fun reading and idea mining.

Thrice-Damned + Montnoir – A pair of solo RPGs with accompanying dungeons and setting locations for each.  I do some travelling and these seemed like they might be good for when I'm out of reach of the group.

Ascendant: Rogues Gallery – NPCs for the Ascendant superhero RPG from Autarch. I might get to run this this winter, not sure yet.  If I do having NPCs already made will save a lot of time.

My main acquisitions were the free 5e Player's Guide to Xoth and a bunch of free Xoth stuff for Legend - Dipur city guide & several adventures. Converted them to Dragonbane for a cool S&S campaign.

That Xoth Player's Guide really scratches an itch.

It does! Had my 2nd game on Saturday - https://simonyrpgs.blogspot.com/2023/03/sword-sorcery-cultures-for-dragonbane.html

Oh, I bought the Goblin Slayer RPG when I saw it on amazon for £13. It's like 600 pages & very Japanese.

Lately, I purchased Avatar Legends from a store called Dungeon Games from when I visited some friends in Ft. Myers.

I also purchased the hardcover copy of Mythic GM Emulator 2nd edition with the commision I made for translating an adventure from Skirmisher Publishing to Spanish. Here's hoping that I don't get a book with a garbage glue job on the spine like I did with the Flextale Solo Adventuring Toolkit.

Make more words about this one. I liked the first edition quite a bit, what does 2E do better?

Just recently? I preordered the Lustria book from Cubicle 7 (they gave me the PDF right away), and from FGU I got Privateers & Gentlemen plus Flashing Blades.

I also just ordered that from DTRPG and am waiting for it to arrive. I haven't had any issues with book quality from DTRPG previously, but it's been a minute since I've bought anything physical from them.
