This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What are your PERSONAL feelings about 4E?

I'd love to play World of Synnibarr with the creator! :)

I'm not about to try and learn the rules well enough to run it though...

Like most board games I can't think of a single reason I'd want to play it.

I have not enjoyed D&D this tremendously much since B/X.   I finally do not need GW to reprint Warhammer Quest because 4e totally scratches that fantasy skirmish itch.

I am writing a new RPG based on what I enjoyed so much about OD&D and B/X and Gamma World and focusing it on what 4e does not do and does not give me as a RPG.

Between 4e, Warhammer Fantasy and my own games, I think my fantasy RPG needs are covered for awhile.

After reading the pdfs, I ordered the books and started redesigning my setting- which took only a little work, actually. Can't wait to play. Strongly positive.

Did the demo.  I have nothing specifically against it, but I'm not playing it, my friends aren't playing it, and in a year, I imagine if I'm playing something D&D-related, it'll be the Rules Cyclopedia or Pathfinder.  Just not what I think of when I think of (my idea of) D&D.  I'd hate to try to run it without minis, and I haven't liked much of what I've read regarding character powers--there's a presumption of power level and ability there that I don't like, especially in my low-level D&D play.

I hope it brings a crap-ton of new people flooding into the hobby, and I can convert them to whatever I'm running at the time.  I'll happily play with some friends in a 4e demo, but I can't see it being my game of choice.  There's too much I'd have to houserule to get it where I'd want.
