This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What are the 4e fanboys saying now?

Asking questions about the fictional game space and receiving feedback that directly guides the flow of play IS the game. - Exploderwizard

You guys are so ... shallow.

This thread is perhaps nominally about 4E, but actually...

"Role-playing as a hobby always has been (and probably always will be) the demesne of the idle intellectual, as roleplaying requires several of the traits possesed by those with too much time and too much wasted potential."

A great RPG blog (not my own)

O Happy Day!

My long time group of friends that had sworn off any other RPG since 4e D&D's release have just decided to play 6e HERO to resurrect our Weird War II campaign!

See? Everything can happen. :)

And my group is still plugging along with 2nd edition, more or less. Isle of Dread bay-bee!

A nice education blog.

The only thing that would convince me to play 4e again would be a 4e Quintessential Temptress.

Isle of Dread was always my favorite module.

In fact, my current 4e campaign was originally going to have a "Glacier of Dread" adventure arc (where I reimagined Isle of Dread with an arctic theme).

However, the group found the treasure map over a year ago, promptly ignored it, and the campaign focus changed to address more local issues with politics and conspiracies, so it will likely never get brought up again.
Now Prepping: One-shot adventures for Coriolis, RuneQuest (classic), Numenera, 7th Sea 2nd edition, and Adventures in Middle-Earth.

Recently Ended: Palladium Fantasy - Warlords of the Wastelands: A fantasy campaign beginning in the Baalgor Wastelands, where characters emerge from the oppressive kingdom of the giants. Read about it here.

I like it a lot too.

I was talking to the 4E crew at my friendly local game store  and they do seem to be worried that WOTC may dump 4th edition D&D if sales get any worse. They also informed me it was my non 4th edition playing that is at fault, not that I care. And by the way WOTC is still fired.

Well how dare you play anything but 4e. You should be ashamed of yourself! :nono:

But... but... only 4e matters, doesn't it? That's what I've been told. Gamers are irrelevant if they're not playing 4e. So how could they possibly have any impact whatsoever on the game? I don't understand! ;)

I'd rather be irrelevant than bored stiff. :D

You mean I can't play or enjoy a game if a company drops the line?

Guess I have a lot of boxes to throw out...
"In a way, the Lands of Dream are far more brutal than the worlds of most mainstream games. All of the games set there have a bittersweetness that I find much harder to take than the ridiculous adolescent posturing of so-called \'grittily realistic\' games. So maybe one reason I like them as a setting is because they are far more like the real world: colourful, crazy, full of strange creatures and people, eternal and yet changing, deeply beautiful and sometimes profoundly bitter."
