This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Doom

I actually Dwarven Forge'd the opening adventure, putting in "Caverns of Famishment" inside the French Fry Forest, and "hand-crafting" French-fry monsters out of Play-Doh.

Couldn't you have just made French fry monsters from French fries? I had one survive under the seat of my car for months. Put some spray-on clear coat seal on them, and they'll probably outlast the players' lifetimes.

Is the red stone in the top pic supposed to be a ketchup pool? :D

That's the Amulet of the Feast, the players missed it, alas. in the room before it is a box of golden nuggets...I might have to throw that at them again.

For what it's worth, the French Fry monsters did bleed ketchup.

That is awesome.  Did they have a good time?

Feast of Legend reminded me very much of Kingdom of Loathing, in the best way.

Greetings!

Doom, that is awesome! Very cool! Dwarven Forge. I need to get some of that! How much does all that cost you?

DF can be pretty pricey, that table probably runs around $400 (via Kickstarter).

Oh, good heavens, yes.  You can get a 3D printer that will print these things for under $200.  A spool of filament for about $25.  Mileage for the filament varies by what you print.  I'm using an Ender 3 Pro and printing some Fat Dragon Games tiles.  They don't have quite the heft of a Dwarven Forge tile, but you're looking at maybe fifty cents worth of plastic for a piece with a wall, quite a bit less for a plain floor piece.

You're not going to get them fast by any means - mine takes about four hours to print out one floor tile with attached wall - but you don't have to do anything with it while it runs, just let it go in the background, pop it off when done, hit the repeat button.

I wonder if anyone's run an actual campaign with this system...
