This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

It's official, NF can't do math. Oh and my paladin is shinier.(NF's Pathfinder Musing

So thanks to some good rolls, a handy magic circle against evil, and some competent tactics, we the party survived fighting over 30 demons... It was long though! So while I waited for my paladin to get back to the living, I did have a chance to use one major NPC. She, (a Cleric of Callistra), was pretty competent. (Alignment channel rocks.) :)

The party then fled Thorn's end, but managed to gather some loot that the Winter Council decided couldn't take with them. So now a lot of that is decorating our renovated gambling hall, The Gold Goblin. (Snickle, my boss loves shinies.)

But the real news was finding out that getting a +4 weapon with Holy on it after getting a +2 cold iron falchion of evil outsider bane is more expensive than 20,000. Yeah...kind of sucks. But then the DM is like "how did you afford your +6 stat boosts!?) And I was like "Well Hasini was out for a while...and when i updated her from 9th to 12th level I used the starting gold as listed on the chart for characters." He was like "Well that's kind of stupid! I mean you should have subtracted that from your 9th level starting gold to get a good amount!" So yeah...I can't do math...

But at least my surviving fights is a little better now! (Plus thanks to a potion of darkvision AND a casting of permanency, Hasini can now see in the dark.)

Overall it was just a starting point as we head down into the Lands of the Black Blood and try to stop this Second Darkness/Earthfall/Starfall. Glyphs apparently will be involved.

In other news, I will FINALLY have an Elric and a possible Clint Eastwood, as two of my players are settling on Magus with Black Blade archetype and Gunslinger.

I still wish Ultimate Combat came out earlier than before GenCon but there you go.

Question: Is it wrong for me to want to increase my +2 cold iron falchion evil outsider bane to +4 cold iron falchion holy evil outsider bane?

I mean really?

Your posts are entertaining.  They remind me of the Monty Hall gaming we used to do when we were 12.  It was a hell of a lot fun back then, don't get me wrong.  But it also lead to so much party infighting as everyone was trying to munchkin their character over the next guys.  Looking back now, I fondly remember the silly fun but in no way miss it.

Kryyst,

First thanks for that. I do try to make entertaining posts because seeing the same stuff posted OVER and OVER again annoys me. Second, I guess you and I have different ideas of monty haul. I mean yeah I'm kind of covered in stuff...but honestly it's not like the part where our wizard/conjurer now has EVERY single spell of 1st through 8th level. Cause he does. Me, I just make light and fight demons.

How is that not the definition of Monty Haul?  Perhaps even if you don't see yourself in that light.  It sounds like the campaign in general is very Monty Haul.  I mean you did fight 30 demons off.  That's not like taking on 30 kobolds.

Well no...but a) we're all about 13th level and b) not all the demons were THAT difficult. I mean the Glabezru sure, the Nalfanshee, certainly. The babaus, not so much. Vrocks are just a pain. The Hezrous proved troublesome but not completely intractable. The REAL problem came from the 14th level bard Succubus. Those bard spells she tossed out made it WAY more than it should (especially when she stunned me.)
