This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Star Wars D6 needs a house rule for Blaster-Damage.
After that, it´s teh r0XXorz. I can´t even to fathom why anybody would ever want to play SW with it´s D20 rules.

They are doing it wrong.

You have to fix the Wookie-conundrum.

Anybody with strength 4D or higher can withstand ridiculous amounts of blaster shots.
I ruled:
the minimum damage from energy weapons is "stunned". Thereby, you don´t have blast-proof wookies anymore.

Worse still, races with particularly high strength can withstand shots from a star ship.

We gave a bonus to damage.  +1 pip for every 5 points the attacker beats the defender's defence.

Other than that minor modification... damn it was a good, simple system.  I played and GMed d6 Star Wars for a number of years.  Very, very happy gaming times.

IMHO, Savage Worlds and Spirit of the Century would also be good substitutes for d6.  But d20 Star Wars?  Blurgh!

You know, I think that actually became a rule.  Let me go check...

Definitely in R&E, minimum damage from anything is "Stunned".  I dunno if it was so in 2nd (which I've heard called "The Blue Trainwreck"), and though I could go dig it out, dinner's almost ready.

I would submit that the character creation rules for my Discworld one-shot were shorter than anything so far mentioned:

"Pick a character from the Discworld novels.  He/she has to have some sort of connection to the Unseen University."

Though I can see an argument that they're actually the longest, because the "rules" for what that character could or couldn't to are implicit in the books.  And there's a lot of them.  The "by the same author" list in Wintersmith now stretches to two pages in rather small writing
