This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

wait until SATURDAY?!

probably not.  i think that blitz has passed.

On the EN thread, it was mentioned that this isn't the 'holy grail' announcement, but "it would work well with it".

Be a bit embarrassing if the hype doesn't match the reality.

It also seems quite likely that it's linked to a computer game licence.

I don't think "holy grail" is used only in its usual metaphorical context. I think it's also a pun. Which makes me think Pendragon.

If the License to Thrill post works the same way, that means the property is a license, and is punny, which makes me think James Bond.

There are presumably three new licensed properties on the way or in negotiation: the "holy grail," and two others. One of which would ostensibly use RQ, the others would be a separate, non-d20 open system. I don't know. I'm curious . . .

Halo?

Maybe even Super Mario! :D

I'd rather Killzone.:p  But isnt Starship Troopers already damn near both? I cant see them biulding a new system to support it. Not when you could damn near "palladium cut and paste" a new book from existing material.

first killzone supplement:  the weapons locker! :D

is there enough material in halo to justify an rpg?

maybe fallout, in runequest--"scavengequest" or something

Quote from: beeberit's probably not traveller--mongoose has "spacequest" plans AFAIK.
I dunno. I think that given the choice of publishing a new version of Traveller - which was a massive name back in the day, and very popular in its D20 and GURPS forms to this day - and adapting a system which isn't especially known for SF to a space setting, they'll go for the former.
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.

beeber

and keep the "spacequest" topics alive as a red herring?  if it means more traveller, i'm all for that.  maybe they'd just be the publisher for MWM?  then he can decide what task system etc. he'd like to use, and they can do the printing.  as long as it looks like this:

;)

They've aleady acknowledgedd that they're doing SQ, so that's not a part of the "what are we going to be doing" debate. It might be a cool sci-fi property that would use those rules. Traveller would be cool. Riddick would be interesting. Could be anything . . .

Quote from: beeberhell, if it wasn't a d20 version of "who" it would be on my list.  i never got the FASA version and i'd love to see a relaunch of it.

I agree that D20 would not be a great choice for Dr.Who, but the FASA version was far worse than anything D20 would be.

I personally think that out of existing systems, BRP would be the best choice for Dr.Who.

but that wordplay in the release.  could they get pendragon?  who has the rights, now?
