This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Anyone currently playing The Witcher?

As it says on the tin. I picked up the game the week it came out, but I have only just began reading it. I have the pdf. I am unusual in that I have never played any of the video game and I have never read any of the books. I was just looking for a dark monster slaying fantasy.

Just wanted to see if anyone is currently playing it and how it was going for you.

Alexander Kalinowski

I have never played any of the games nor read any of the books either and I'd be interested in getting some impressions as well.
Author of the Knights of the Black Lily RPG, a game of sexy black fantasy.
Setting: Ilethra, a fantasy continent ruled over by exclusively spiteful and bored gods who play with mortals for their sport.
System: Faithful fantasy genre simulation. Bell-curved d100 as a core mechanic. Action economy based on interruptability. Cinematic attack sequences in melee. Fortune Points tied to scenario endgame stakes. Challenge-driven Game Design.
The dark gods await.

Played the video games, have the book, haven't read it yet.  Game group just hasn't played in over a year, so didn't feel like investing the time in it.

Me too :)

I am interested about the RPG. I am afraid this is rather rules-heavy game, which I am 100% sure I won't play. How fluff heavy it is? Is it playable with other system?

I am fan of the literature.
