This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Victorian rpgs, what's out there?

Balbinus

Including scientific romances, steampunk (a term I loathe as it happens) and Victorian fantasy amalgams.

Off the top of my head:

Space 1889
Passages
Full Light, Full Steam (I may have the name wrong)
Victorian Adventures
Forgotten Futures
Victoriana
Gurps Steampunk
Cthulhu by Gaslight
Victorian Vampire
Dark Continent
Adventures and Expeditions by GASLIGHT
Nags
Vis Imperia Victoriana

Am I missing any?

By Jove, sirrah!  Your exclusion of the most exemplary Castle Falkenstein seems most egregious indeed.  Can it possibly be that there exist islands of gaming so far removed from polite society that they live in benighted ignorance of this most famous of Victorian Entertainments?  The mere notion baffles the mind and confounds the senses.

With respect sir, I felt it so evident as not to require explicit citation, that you were unable to deduce this reflects poorly on your own ratiocination and indeed upon your schooling.  I can only conclude you went to Harrow.

Ah, very good then.  I see your intent, and I am more than willing to cooperate.  My second will be available at the convenience of yours, to arrange a mutually convenient time for us to resolve this matter as gentlemen.

Now then, on another matter ... is the "Nags" game I see you listing likely to be the same as the one that I know under the title "Terra Incognita"?  The "national archaeological and geographic society," is it not?  A fine game, good chap, fine game indeed.

I believe it indeed to be the same.

With respect to your kind invitation of the first paragraph, I regret I must respectfully decline.  To participate in such an enterprise would imply a recognition of comparable status between our stations, which sir I am sure you will agree would not be proper.  A gentleman is a gentleman sir, and as such must refrain from affairs of honour with colonial counterparts, who by definition have no honour to have affairs in respect of.

Etherscope definitely has a Victorian vibe to it.

How very strange and elaborate the trappings some people put upon cowardice.  I've been considering inking a monograph on the subject.  I hope that I may be so bold as to forward you a copy, once printed, in recognition of your very substantial contributions upon the subject and in service to your clear desire to perceive yourself as a man of letters.

In a related note (and for the benefit of posters here banzinated over there) there's a thread over at Big Purple discussing a game based on Stargate SG1, but the Victorian Era Brits having discovered and using the gate.

It's an idea I find at least six, possibly even seven, kinds of awesome.

Yeah, I'm a fan of Etherscope myself.  Whilst its default setting is the 1980's it's a very alternate history 1980's where the Ether was discovered and Ethertech and the Etherscope were created and the British Empire never collapsed.  It's very Victorian in tone and style, if not in timeline!

Crothian

Rippers for Savage Worlds I beleive is set in the Victorian age.

Ravenloft had Masques of the Red Death.

Other people mentioned Castle Falkenstein and Etherscope.  I'd add:

Age of Empire (1996)
For Faerie, Queen, and Country (1993)
Perfect (2006)

The only one I see missing is OGL Steampunk from mongoose publishing.
Vive la mort, vive la guerre, vive le sacré mercenaire
