One of the few things that I do appreciate about 5e is that the basic rules are available as a free PDF download from the WotC website. If they are just starting out, then they should use that.

If they wanted some Traveller stuff, I'd donate. Like Spinachcat says though, they look like a 5e only con and thus I won't support them,
