Post by: VengerSatanis on December 13, 2022, 06:16:43 PM

Let's get more people into the Kort'thalis Publishing pool!

I'd like to formally invite the RPG site bros and bro-ettes to my Cha'alt Game Jam happening between January 1st and February 14th.  It covers Cha'alt, Crimson Dragon Slayer, Alpha Blue, and Encounter Critical (both old and new).

Full details here, but feel free to comment here and ask me questions!  https://vengersatanis.blogspot.com/2022/12/chaalt-game-jam-in-january.html

Hope to see some of you guys participate.

Coolness, I had fun creating stuff for Star Adventurer in a previous OSR game jam and I'm already playing around with several ideas for this one.

That's awesome to hear.  If you want to brainstorm or whatever, shoot me ideas.  I've already heard good stuff from various quarters of the internet...

Thanks,

I was actually thinking of an adventure seed.   The crew of a ship is stranded on Cha'alt.  They need parts and supplies if they're ever going to lift off again.  So, a bunch of characters, some deck plans, adventure ideas, some new equipment, etc.  Something that the GM can drop in anywhere as a simple encounter, the seed for a larger adventure, or even as a starting point for a group of player characters.  Of course, there will be a twist or two along the way.

I'd turn it into a location-based micro-sandbox with your suggestion seeds being various encounters, weirdness, and trouble the PCs could get into depending on how far and in which direction the PCs explore from their broken down ship.  Over the years, I've learned that customers respond better to an actual thing (even if it's really short) that's pre-determined and fleshed-out, rather than suggestions for what a GM could do himself.  You wouldn't need a ton of detail, maybe a paragraph or two for each point of interest.

Let me know if you want to bounce the creative ball around...
