This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Has Anyone Created an OSR Logo Without Being Called a Bigoted Fascist Hateful Person?

Has anyone created a new OSR logo without being called a bigoted fascist hate-speech person? Because creating one would mean to many that you're one of those that is banned from using the other one. Because being a bigoted fascist hate-speech person?

If a publisher simply chooses to not print OSR on their product, are they targeting themselves for attacks by anyone on social media with followers?

Eh, most OSR products don't use the logo in the first place. I thought it was a neat logo, but never did because I don't trust creative commons licensing.

Same reason I never use any stock art from JEShields, who says it can't be used in any "racist or sexist" product, but that is so vague that it has no meaning these days. Orcs are considered racist by some. Women wearing tabards are considered sexist. Drow are racist AND sexist

People hate politics intruding into their games and they were happy discussing RPGs without politics involved.  Then it was inserted by the creator of a logo.  So the people who made their own logos in response weren't taking an opposing position to the creator of the logo's political ideas but to the use of it to start a fight.

So some guy who made a logo lets his political religion get the best of him. Then other guys that agree with him make logos of their own to fight him with? Or fight for him?

Someone should create an OSR logo with a big ol' middle finger, and that guy's initials woven into the graphic.  FUTANKA would also be nice!!!
I need you to roll a perception check.....

That's a ubiquitous, recognized symbol of the knights and knaves alehouse, and it would protect its rights if infringed.

Yes, I'm joking.  It's Francisca's K&KA avatar, and I don't know if he owns it or not.

On the off chance you or anyone else wants art without all the baggage, I have a crapton of art here (mostly in big-ass packs), and the only thing I say no to is bundling it into another art pack to sell: you can otherwise use it is as many things you want, as many times as you want (there's no "pay me again after x sales/uses"), and you can edit/crop/do whatever to it.

People made their own logos because his was no longer fun.  It was now about an internet fight.  If someone makes their own logo instead of using the blue one it doesn't mean they're racist or sexist or any other *ist.  They just want their RPG stuff to be about fun and not politics.

I hope in the long run, that is how things will turn out.
