Well this is rich, I haven't tweeted today at all, it was working fine but now it's suspended...

I'm @GeekyBugle01 if anyone wants to help me and ask why I was suspended.

Weird.  That recently happened to my Reddit acct.  I hadn't posted or anything since around March and 2 weeks ago I got an email notice that my acct was suspended for unnamed rule violations.  I went on and nothing had been posted since March.  And it was a benign post about some free RPG stuff.  I think Reddit is basically toast at this point.

Did you not get an explanation from them at all? When mine was suspended they sent me a thing saying I used a threatening term. What was that threatening term, the word eradicate.

Well, yes, I hadn't seen my socials folder, they indeed sent me an email saying they are limiting the visibility of a tweet for inciting hatred. I'll try and paste the whole message and failing that the pertinent tweet, I can't even delete it.

For me, the word eradicate was used in the context of telling the British royal family scum to go and eradicate themselves. Twitter doesn't do sarcasm very well.

You're assuming a Human was involved in the process.

No, I KNOW it's automated because it would be impossible to police speech with humans. I'm saying that the appeals SHOULD be always handled by humans.

Ok, so your first step has to be to file an appeal, and make it clear that the suspension was based on a typo; the word you meant to put there was obviously "chunk".  Make that appeal using reasoned speech, making it clear you had no intent to incite any kind of racial hatred, and that you would gladly delete the tweet with the typo.

Then wait for a response, which in my experience can take anywhere from 60 seconds (so you know that's automated) to a day and a half.
Let us know if your appeal is rejected. If so, we can start contacting twitter support about it.

I actually had to look for the meaning of "chink" on a dictionary to understand what happened.

Funny thing. "Chink" means:

a narrow opening, typically one that admits light.

...Which can make sense in that context. An ethnic slur doesn't. It would be like writing "The theatres take a big Guido of box office income." Uh? They get a big Italian-sized percentage of the box office? It just makes no sense.

It is so painfully clear that it was a typo - not to mention that no ethnic slur is ever used that way - that, yes, my opinion is that a AI fired the ban automatically. Which means that we all are in big trouble. "No AI, today, will ever understand that "I'm not in the mood for a gay Christmas" is not homophobic at all.

I've run into this a lot on Facebook. An AI program looking for naughty words doesn't have enough intelligence to know that context matters. This is also a big reason why I say that AI isn't ready for prime time yet.
