This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

True20: What Settings Would Be A Nice Fit?

Over at RPGnet, there was a thread about the license for True20, and Bill Corrie mentioned possibly doing Roma Imperious in True20, which I think would be one of the best unions since PB&J.  If this were to happen, I'd be absolutely thrilled. :hyper:

What other settings do you think would be nice fits for True20?

Yeah, Roma would be mega kick ass cool (MKAC) with True 20.

I would also like to see Bill publish Future Skein in True 20.

Quote from: VellorianIs True-20 another variant of D20?

Yes. Less strongly classed; provides a feat choice at every level in the place of any class abilities, the class provides the list of feats you can choose. There are only 3 classes, warrior, expert, and adept. Also has a damage save system instead of hp.

Running: Pathfinder Scarred Lands, Mutants & Masterminds, Masks, Starfinder, Bulldogs!
Playing: Sigh. Nothing.
Planning: Some Cyberpunk thing, system TBD.

I would add to this possibly Chevalier. Legends of Charlemagne would do well with the strongly classed premise of True 20. Also, I wonder if Nebuleon would benefit from this treatment.

Now, to blow both of your minds, what about Squirrel Attack! True 20?

Squirrel Attack would be an..interesting call.  It might be a good entry vehicle for learning True20, if nothing else.

Man, I cannot wait to see Chevalier.  You let me know the second that puppy is out.

BTW, Theresa took both squirrel dice. :(

Abyssal Maw

I'd kinda like to an "action cartoon" type game with it- Herculoids, Thundercats, GI Joe.. that sort of thing.
Download Secret Santicore! (10MB). I painted the cover :)

Yes, I am currently running a Roman historical campaign, using True20, and its a really smooth fit.

Well, its historical but with Highlander-style immortals in it. But that still makes it way more "historical" than "Roma Imperious". For one thing, I didn't get my latin wrong.

How can you know, it's a thousand year dead language?

(De-in-jokification: White Wolf made themselves totally ridiculious when they insisted on Lance Sancta being correct latin. It is not, and when that was pointed out, they basically said "as nobody knows for sure about latin", they went with what they thought to be cool.)

I agree with this. The rules are almost a natural for Highlander.

Let me see if I can find the summary of house rules...
