I believe (1) Many on the hardcore left believe the crazy shit they've been told, they live in an echo chamber where counter-news just doesn't get heard (2) Many realized the shooting probably won the election for Trump and are having a hard time dealing with the orange hitler becoming President again.

Tonight, I learned that President Gerald Ford survived 2 assassination attempts in 17 days in 1975. I had no idea.
