Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). I'm thinking maybe I could ditch this whole "ruler" thing and become a wandering adventurer. Grab a good sword, a fine horse, some armor and a bag of gold, then hit the road.  Who needs all that responsibility anyway?

Maybe look for corroboration first before I take action.  50/50 the brother is a traitor vs the sister is a schemer.  Also invite the nieces and nephews from both sides to stay at my castle for a few years for "educational purposes."  I don't even need to say I'm holding them hostage - it will be understood.

We'll bake pastries together and have a serious, honest chat as a family over tea.  :) And then we'll have a bake off! :D

(Yes, I probably would have my honor guard entourage secretly around me and readied, just in case.)

A bakeoff!  The perfect closer!

But the Battenburg cake is poison.

The Buche de Noel is also poison

The showstopper challenge is...What's the word I'm looking for? Oh yeah. Poison.

The vessel with the pestle has the pellet with the poison.  The chalice with the palace has the brew that is true.

"Inspector General" with Danny Kaye, right?  ;D Love that movie.

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

You are a middling barbarian warlord, and your younger sister tells you that your younger brother and his wife are plotting to have you murdered, so that they can take the throne and inherit all the power--and also ensure that their kids become the heirs--and not yours.

What do you do? How do you react in this situation?
I ask myself "What would Kim Jong-un do?"
I kill the brother his wife and all their children and make the sister a member of my politburo.

LMAO North Korea was practically the first thing that came to my mind too

It depends. What if the brother is innocent and the sister is lying?

But then, if these are the only factors, the sister would have no reason to lie. She doesn't have her own husband in line to become the next warlord.

However, she could still be mistaken, or fed false information.

So at that point, I'd send a spy to ferret out the truth of my brother to see if it's true before doing anything. Or confront him directly.
Battle doesn\'t need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don\'t ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don\'t ask why I fight.

You ever have to manage a group of people?  It's a HUGE pain in the ass to me, I tell the brother I have decided to go out and travel the world and see what is out there for our people, and that I feel he would make a fine king and he is now king.  I leave and let him worry about the next guy stabbing him to death to arranging a hunting accident.
