Title: Thoughts on LFG
Post by: Dropbear on May 30, 2022, 09:22:57 AM
I'm curious as to whether there are a lot of folks here who have tried out Low Fantasy Gaming, and what there thoughts might be.

I've just picked up the PDFs recently for the core & companion. I'm wondering if it would be a better fit for Primeval Thule than 5E or Savage Worlds. Still making my read of it. I do like the dangerous magic stuff a lot so far.

I wrote a review of the original version a while ago. I think LFG really nails the S&S vibe:

Thank you, that's a nice review piece! Looks like Deluxe took your advice on examples of  unique features.

I really like the system and backed both kickstarters he did for it.  It would work very well for Primeval Thule.  I ran a campaign using heavily house ruled 5E for a couple of years and 80% of the house rules were ripped straight from Stephen G's stuff including LFG...the dark and dangerous magic, the luck mechanic, etc.

(The group that was playing knew 5E and it was kinda ad hoc, so I wasn't able to convince them to try LFG on its own to begin with.)
