This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I'm all for re-writing hobbits, but re-in-visioning them as cannibals that live in the margins is an odd choice.

It's also why I like Dungeons and Delvers.  They replaced hobbits with kobolds.  To clarify, they're Germanic folklore kobolds that are small spirit people that live in houses, mines, and ships, used to explain moved/lost items and the random sounds at night.
I'm glad for you if you like the top selling game of the genre.  Me, I like the road less travelled, and will be the player asking we try a game you've never heard of.

Yes. I am always amused by the concept of ultraviolent halflings. From back when I read Bored of the Rings, where it was suggested that hobbits "sent a unit of snipers to fight in the last great war, but no one knew which side they were on".
