This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: SavageSchemer;1121144Ok. I already liked his books, but reading that blog entry made my respect for the man go up by at least an order of magnitude. That is what you call speaking truth to power.

Yeah, I was very impressed by his staunch willingness to defend his position as well as how tactfully he did so.

The meltdown over him on TBP is legendary. Got a link to his words?
Playing: With myself.
Running: Away from bees.
Reading: My signature.

Sure, here's the blog link I posted last page (the reason for my praise):

Then there's his tweet being targeted here which was the origin of all the butthurt, and the reactions to it seemingly a large part the reason for his blog post:

I guess there is some cashing in on Cyberpunk Red going on, or more accurately on the Cyberpunk 2077 videogame, which will have a market many orders of magnitude bigger than any non-D&D RPG. I've never been into Shadowrun but I understand the new edition has been panned for looking like it was rushed out.

Of course a scumbag like Holden would be all aboard that train.  Nothing like protecting less than half a percent of the population by exposing 50% of the population to predators.  Wasn't this dipshit credibly accused of sexually harassing women?  I thought I read that was why he was booted off Exalted.  Would make sense he'd be all on board removing protection for women.

As for the actual RPG I didn't particularly like the system as it was presented in Firefly (sounds like they are using the same system).  But like Firefly it will still on my shelf and look pretty and act as a nostalgia item.  Such is the life of a working parent with more money than time.
