Other campaign worlds with Lion & Dragons

Despite Dark Albion is the default setting to run Lion & Dragon campaigns, I thought about other settings in which it might fit. I thought especially about campaign worlds of fantasy literature, where typical D&D spellcasters seem inappropriate. So lets discuss:

1) Middle Earth. Apart from the Istari (plus Galadriel) who anyway never cast Fireball and similar spells, very little is known about human sorcerers. Plus the ME heroes aren't D&D superheroes in any way, so a gritty game like L&D might be very well appropriate. A few adaptations would be required though. Would be Clerics be turned into an elf class of both combatant and magic-wielding character?

2) Westeros (A Game of Throne). Typical D&D spellcasters certainly don't fit in this setting, but more discreet L&D magisters could be introduced I guess. Clerics might have to be turned into something else though.

3) Harn. It's a low-magic world, apparently inappropriate for D&D. Perhaps L&D would fit well? I don't know anything about Harn though.

4) Lankhmar. I love Fritz Leiber's stories of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser. However, here also you never see anyone (even Ninglaube or the witch) cast a Fireball or similar spells. The old TSR supplements might still be found here and there (or the more recent ones for Runequest). I think L&D might be a good fit in this setting, though Clerics would have to be changed into something special I guess.

I thought some wizards cast lightning bolt. I seem to remember the heroes returning to Lankhmar only to have wizards casting lightning bolts, but the heroes dug their blades into the ground and negated them.
Running: HarnMaster and Baptism of Fire

Omega

A sci-fi authentic setting of course.

I just picked up a PDF copy of Lion & Dragon and Midlands Low Fantasy Sandbox and I have been reading both, flitting between them because I was struck by how easy it would be to use the L&D system in the Midlands setting.

I have also backed about a week ago the new Midderlands kickstarter and from what I can tell, that would fit really well too.

With the right knowledge/research/30-mins on wikipedia I imagine you could 'update' Lion and Dragon to take in later periods of an authentic British-y low magic fantasy milieu. I've been mulling it over some, as my setting moves 'backwards' in time (in terms of science and technology, not literally) the further north you head into 'Albion' and my players are used to my weekly 'I don't like 5e' harrumphs, so are hopefully prepped for a mild change of system.
Running: RC D&D, 5e D&D, Delta Green

KingofElfland

I think L&D would handle Harn just fine (TSR DnD doesn't do a bad job either really). What about Warhammer's Old World?

RPGPundit

I could see any of those named thus far, and would add another to the list: King Arthur. Especially the Mallory version.
