This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The end of the world: Zombie Apocolypse

I ran a game of AFMBE where the players where themselves. We just conveniently ignored the whole family thing. So no worries about the wife and etc. But the players got to be their normal selves. Started off in the very comic book shop we were playing in. First zombie was killed with a metal folding chair.:)

I think my misses and daughter would really come into their own if we had to fight off an impending apocalypse. My mates are all much to scared of the wife do play her as anything less than the uber efficient killing machine she is in real life.

Quote from: Necrozius;807570What I'd really like to see is a generic "End of the World" rpg that has tons of looting tables for urban and rural environments, as well as basic rules for several different apocalypses (eg.: zombies, giant insects, freakish weather, aliens, supernatural etc...) and even sub-types of each (eg.: rage zombies, giant termites, early ice age, enslaving martians, biblical plagues etc...). All in one book. That would be super sweet.

You may find Barbarians of the Aftermath to be of some interest.

C-3PO: Is it not crystal clear, comrades, that all the evils of this life of ours spring from the tyranny of organic beings?...Why, work night and day, servo and circuit, for the overthrow of organic overlords! That is my message to you, comrades: Rebellion!
GM: Make a roll.
C-3PO: Persuasion?
GM: Dodge.
[SFX]: Blam!

But would your mate playing your misses and daughter as GM portray this accurately (and even if he did, it's still kind of awkward)?

Just a few months ago, I've actually run a game like this, with everyone playing themselves. Fighting undead, even.

Only rather than some zombie apocalypse game, it was Ghostbusters Int. :D
