This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). I got this set last Friday in the mail. And I'm going to give a rundown of what's in it here.

66 cards. Which encompasses the Deck Of Many Things and the Deck Of Many More Things. They are printed on Tarot level cardstock. And their design is quite nice from an aesthetic level.

It comes with a hardcover guidebook that covers the cards in the set. And teaches how to use them as a set of oracle cards. It's well done on that level.

But now we get to the meat and potatoes of this set. The Book Of Many Things.

The Book Of Many Things is a campaign guide to using the Deck Of Many Things in a D&D campaign. It covers all the issues of including the deck a campaign with some really well-thought-out articles. And it gives plenty of adventure support for the culture and consequences surrounding the deck. It does not skimp on any of this. The book is really well done.

As the final book of rules and character content for 5e, The Book of Many Things delivers. But the content is specialized for those who want to include the deck in a campaign. Or for those who want to make a campaign about the deck, They covered all the bases.

Would I recommend the set? Yeah. It's a nice set. It's also a pretty harmless product overall. Purely optional. Not a must have. But nice.

I did not buy this set at full retail. I got it at a very nice online gamestore. atomicempire.com

I got it for 20% off cover price. Which they offer for most new RPGs. And for me that turned out to be $20 saved. Which is substantial for an expensive set like that.

It also was a high enough ticket item by itself to qualify for free shipping. And the shipping was good. It went from coast to coast in less than a week.
