Title: The Dead City
Post by: RPGPundit on December 26, 2023, 03:33:01 PM
The Pundit Files no.2 is out right now! "The Dead City" is a classic short adventure from my own campaign. You can get it only from  The Red Room and it only costs $3.50 (tree fiddy)!

"The Dead City" is a classic short adventure from my own campaign. Will your PCs dare travel to the ruins of Great Haran? Will they discover the secret of its last tower? Will they escape with their lives?

The adventure seems fun, although the bit in the intro about how small and pathetic new Harran was surprised me. Didn't it still have a decent university and improved mosque courtesy of Saladin around this time?

The mosque and the palace may have been improved in Saladin's time. But the University was gone by then. It had been founded in the 8th century by the Abbasids, and reached its peak period around the 10th century or so if I recall, but by the 11th century it went into serious decline as the area became more fundamentalist. By the end of the Zengid Turk rule, it was little more than a madrassa.

Thanks for purchasing it, btw!

Purchased!  And it seems like a fun adventure.  Don't wanna give spoilers here, but I especially liked one of the encounters enroute that involved singing. :)

Ah yes. Based on real regional mythology!
