This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

One of the best RPGs of all time has a new publisher.

Please share in my joy and exaltation.
The dreams and prayers of chivalry world wide have been heard.
The heavens themselves have split open.

Pendragon has a new publisher!!!

All praise Stewart Wieck!
Nocturnal is the name of the new publisher that has just finished acquisition of all rights to KAP that WW had.
This is Stewart's latest company, who has left WW and, as far as I am concerned, taken the best thing they had.
I am in on the planning at this stage.
I have no clue what else he is doing and, today, I do not care.
There are absolutely NO CONCRETE PLANS at this time, so please don't ask. When I know more, I will announce it here.

Meantime, thank you to all for your support and patience.

and HOORAY!

It's a shame that the core book is out of print. Hopefully that will be rectified, soon.

I just read it in rpg.net. I'm glad there will be a new publisher that will keep the game in print. The question is, will there be anything new, or will it be the same old Pendragon?
Grając zaś w grę komputerową, być może zdarzyło się wam zapragnąć zejść z wyznaczonej przez autorów ścieżki i, miast zabić smoka i ożenić się z księżniczką, zabić księżniczkę i ożenić się ze smokiem.

If this means I can get one or more of the following:

1) I can get a printed copy of the campaign book without having to pay outrageous prices
2) find Pendragon 5th in stores
3) get printed copies of the manor and character books at decent prices and possibly pdfs

THANK YOU! :hatsoff:

White Wolf / Arthaus imprint (?) just let this out to dry after releasing the books, along with BESM 3e and pretty much everything it's touched in the last several years.
Since I'm wishing, please incorporate Stafford's changes and new thoughts into any newly printed edition. I'll buy it.

For what it's worth, Stewart Wieck was the head behind the publication of KAP at Arthaus, so it looks like there's a committed continuity there.  How much, I have to wonder, were the fortunes (and hands) of KAP tied up in the White Wolf merger with / acquisition by CCP?

Anyway, very good news.

Awesome! Will he pick up a few other titles? There are some games I want back in print...

I wish them much luck. I hope this ends up with a sturdy and wonderful line of books for them.

This is great news. I was a big fan of earlier editions of Pendragon but gave 5th edition a pass (because the books were expensive and I had no plans to actually use them) and have regretted doing so ever since. Revised reprints of those books, plus more affordable versions of Greg's recent self-published books, would almost certainly get my money.

Stewart Wieck was always my favorite of the WW guys (though, admittedly, that's pretty faint praise).

Just saw this, and glad of it.  I always wanted to do more with Pendragon--maybe this'll be the edition that happens in.

Spectacular news!

As far as "anything new"; I should point out that aside from the brilliant 5e and GPC books, after Stafford was sent into limbo by WW, he published the truly fantastic "Book of the Manor" and "Book of Knights and Ladies", which I would very very strongly recommend to any 5e Pendragon fan, and more recently the Book of Armies and Book of Battle, which sadly I have not been able to buy (if anyone sends me a review copy, I'd be mighty glad to review those!).

Anyways, I hope that with this news there will be new product, and frankly Stafford has been putting out better Pendragon books than absolutely ever before, even in this limbo-period.

The first two are what I was thinking of, wasn't aware of the third & fourth books. As a wargamer who's been known to DBA-ize battles in roleplaying sessions these new books look useful.

I do think Stafford's writing some great stuff lately and enjoy the updates, maps and essays on http://www.gspendragon.com/

*Inserts tongue firmly in cheek* Yeah, man, I heard they were totally changing up the setting. Turns out, Morgan le Fay is the true Queen of Camelot. "King" Arther is really an usurper held in place by the vile, chauv...

...Ok, I can't type any more of that. My fingers won't let me.
