Well the players in my game I'm running are moving forward to the next time period / era in their pre-history. So they will be revising their weapon/equipment lists. One of the characters is proficeint in a martial art called Moo Gi Gong. The main feature the character can pick up and use common household objects as deadly weapons. In hand to hand or if thrown. A hardware store would provide an arsenal for them. The player in the last era of the game began gathering a bag of common items for his character to throw or smack people around with. I know he'll want to do the same this time as well. So I though I would create a random table of every day objects. Then have him roll of on it say 1D10 times. To see what items he has in his possession when he starts. So what are your suggestions for common items to carry around and use as weapons. This game is taking place in 1976. So bear that in mind.
