This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Is no RPG fan safe. I've had my data stolen so many times this year I'm surprised I haven't shown up buying a yacht in Russia yet.
Battle doesn\'t need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don\'t ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don\'t ask why I fight.

"There was unauthorized access to registered names, email addresses, posts, and some shipping addresses. Additionally, some billing addresses that were added prior to 2014 were also accessed. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers and no credit card numbers were compromised. Although accessed, all passwords, social security numbers and tax form information remain safely encrypted with a 2048-bit RSA key.  No specific action is required of our users, but as a precaution I recommend that all users update their passwords on Patreon."

My bank account is evidence that I am completely safe from identity theft.

The fact is, I wouldn't be surprised that a ton of people who have their data stolen don't actually end up getting ripped off, because the sheer volume of data theft that happens is so enormous, there's probably bigger fish to fry.

Your lack of missing funds might be due to sheer luck, or because there are bigger fish than you to fry (or maybe your credit rating sucks or something...).

Meanwhile, here at theRPGsite we're dedicated to keeping your financial information secure! To help you keep it safe we don't have any form fields where you would put sensitive financial data. Instead, I ask that all members please send me their credit card numbers and banking information directly to me via PM.

That's more the case of all of the above.  I'm small fry, got lucky, and because of being crippled and on a government stipend, my credit rating sucks.
