This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Spike's World: The Map

Serious Paul

Okay am I missing something here? Is there a link to this map anywhere in this thread?

Spike

that is what is missing. Originally the map was actually IN the thread, rather than linked. The thread was stickied, and I needed a quick grab of it, so I went ot the sticky...

... no map.

I have the file, its just not convienent to grab it and re-post it to the thread... or for that matter use in the updating of the map as currently underway.

I, being somewhat proud of my lack of intertubes savvy was simply pointing out to the pundit that his snarky non-answer to what happened to the original maps was non-helpful as it assumed that I have the techno-wizbang, or desire to pursue techno-wizbangery necessary to maintain a photo-sharing site at this time.

Go to imgur.com and drag it onto the front page, which will cause the image to load. Then select "large thumbnail" and copy/paste the code that says "BB code" to a post here.

Wait, we have actual normal people around here? Nobody told me that. What the hell?

Dammit, I was looking for a den of intellectually inbred obsessives with a prominent superiority complex and a penchant for endlessly rehashing the same densely written and abstruse texts, all written by the same guy. You know, like an Ayn Rand LISTSERV, only about RPG's instead.

Normal people on the Internet. Pshaw! When will the madness end?!

( :D Kidding. Kidding. Though, I'd really like to see that map. I mean, I know it's been 5 years, but still... map.)

If you'd swap Ayn Rand for Lenin, I think I could point you in the right way.
Furthermore, I consider that  This is Why We Don\'t Like You thread should be closed

Polar projection? The radial longitude and centered, circular latitude lines suggest that, but there's no ice cap.

Color me intrigued.

EDIT: Never mind, I just read the beginning of your world description. Haven is a diskworld, so of course it uses a radial projection. Right, nothing to see here. Move along, move along.

There are some corrections and a lot more cities and ruins that are supposed to go on the map, but the general idea is there...

RPGPundit

I'm not old school enough to do hexes.  Not to mention that I'm already feeling the creative crunch trying to fill in a few thousand square miles that were convienently overlooked (everything between the Avante and the Highlands, the southern half of the Tenebrian Kingdoms, and the western and northern coasts of the Southern Continent....)... and that is just broad details like 'what is the name of the country... here!.

Trying to come up with a million hexes, each with at least one interesting thing... or whatever... would fucking kill me.

Not to mention turn this five? Six? year project into the labor of several lifetimes...

No.

You do the hexes, man...

Rather than start a new thread to repost the Map, I figured I'd ressurect this one for those who were asking about it in the Sea of Grass thread
