This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Yet another star wars ship!

My apologies.  I may have you confused with an artist who I've seen around various boards.  Draws superhero characters and such?

QuoteI think so. I can't tell though if that is because the cockpit is larger relative to the ship or whether the perspective makes it look larger since the angle has the cockpit closer to the viewer than the rest of the ship. I think you could make a case for either. Since it sounds like you want the ship to be smaller than I say make it so.

There are a lot of YT variants. Your picture actually looks a bit more like the YT-1930. Although the cockpit to hull ratio seems like it might fit the picture of the YT-1760. Despite the scale of cockpit to hull in the picture the stats for the YT-1760 say it is about the same diameter as the Falcon. I don't think the picture supports that though.

It's probably worth keeping in mind that a lot of artists are not all that great at (and maybe even unconcerned with) drawing to exact scale.
Very true.

QuoteI didn't start the thread, but your posts seem right on topic to me.
Okay, cool.  I just don't want to get dinged for derailing.  I've lurked for a bit, but perhaps I'm more acclimated to boards which are more strict.

Not me. My ability to draw could be charitably described as limited. The avatar is one of several pieces of Star Wars art I commissioned from a guy who is a good artist.

Strict is not the first (or second or sixty-third) word that springs to mind for describing this board. :D

Yes - I thought it was just perspective making the cockpit look larger.

The YT-1760 is much smaller than the 1300 - about 10 meters shorter. I too think this one looks a lot like the 1930, although it isn't.

Heh! My father was a consulting engineer, and I was trained as a draftsman from boyhood. From the age of 13 on, I was his primary draftsman.

Agreed! Absolutely on target! :D

I'm wondering if I'm thinking of Bron who I've seen occasionally on RPG.net...  My bad.  :(

LOL  Okay, I'll keep it in mind, though I still don't plan on making trouble.

Oh, thanks!   Good to be aboard!

Quote from: flyingmice;1021974Yes - I thought it was just perspective making the cockpit look larger.
I briefly thought that too, but it looks smaller, especially when looking at the Falcon from a similar perspective.  But, yeah.  In this case, my game, my rules!  ;)

QuoteAgreed! Absolutely on target! :D
Again, cool!  Thanks and if you don't mind other questions, I'll post in this thread if something else comes up.

I might even be brave enough to start my own thread with my own design.
