Title: Stupid Forgotten Realms
Post by: Nightfang on May 25, 2006, 12:14:38 PM
Am I the only one who is annoyed with some of the dieties in FR having oriental weapons as their preferred weapons?  For instance, I was making a priest of Waukeen last night, and I noticed that the preferred weapon for Waukeen is the nunchaku.  WTF?

Any suggestions for a different weapon to substitute?

Is Waukeen supposed to be an Oriental deity now? If not, then I'd go with the flail also.

Hmmmm.....I'm still trying to figure how a cloud of coins translates to Nunchaku.  She's the merchants friend so perhaps a quarterstaff.  Or if you want to go with the cloud of coins thing perhaps darts or throwing daggers.

THey always say she's a young deity, so perhaps she's formally a mortal from Kara-Tur.

A flail man.

That's all a Nunchaku is. A rice flail.

Thing is, in D&D the nunchaku isn't a particularly oriental weapon. Monks from all over the place use it (as well as the kama, sai, siangham, and shuriken).

Well, I have a problem the monk class, anyway.

Since the priest in question was also a rogue, I just went with the rapier and decided to forgo the preferred weapon problem all together.
