This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Well, it's early days. I dunno, I'm trying not to draw any conclusions for a few months till sales settle down and people get a chance to really play.

Quote from: Imperator;326354I found the original story absolutely retarded and a really terrible shill? / shrill? Not sure. Anyway, bullshit.

Shill is the word you're looking for.  If you recall, Massawyrm posted some gushing 4e reviews

before the game out (he was in a playtest group with D&D freelancer Ari Marmell IIRC).  I'd bet that this whole story is fake and is purely a paid product endorsement for Pathfinder just as I think the 4e reviews he did were part of the same marketing campaign that gives us 4e podcasts from Penny Arcade.

Yeah, AICN is just about the last place...no, check that, the last place to go to for journalistically honest unbiased reviews.

I don't think anyone really doesn't know any more that I think that 4e sucks, 3e sucks, 2e sucks and I'm really not crazy about Mentzer's basic...and I found that to be a dreadful piece of "journalism".  At the IT magazine I write for, I'd get laughed off the staff for turning in a piece like that.
