This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Dr Rotwang! Now that we've sorted out where they are in the books, I'd like to propose an answer as to where they are in the game:

(snip of goodness)

That's a great example of how they should be used. These aren't just one-eyed giants, they're mysterious mythological monsters of Legend.

Settembrini

I just found them in the RC too. The RC has them in a rather dumb version.
Still, no 3rd Edition MM love for the "one-eyed-hurler".

Quote from: SettembriniWhy isnĀ“t there a Cyclops in any D&D Incarnation?

Others have mentioned that rules for cyclopses do exist, but thankfully the lack of cyclopses in the core books has cut down on the number of "one-eyed monster" jokes.

Quote from: RPGPunditYes, the Rules Cyclopedia not only has Cyclops in it, its got a very funny picture of a Cyclops Magi.
It's refreshing to see somebody say something nice about Terry Dykstra's art. I don't know why but over at Dragonsfoot they hate his RC illustrations.

Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what\'s on the other side? Rainbows are visions, but only illusions, and rainbows have nothing to hide.

Doc loves Rush?  I thought he was a new-wave knd of guy.

Yet another reason to be in awe of him.

I am a new wave guy, but I loves me some Rush, Kansas, Eagles and some other stuff too.

Maybe the chief cyclops is the oracle, or he's the only one who can "operate" the mosaic.  And he'll only do it if you best him in battle...or better yet, perform three tasks.

Three riddles is good, too.  Maybe the cyclops chief has a hair trigger and some magic spells, eh?  Come to think of it, why are there so many statues of warriors and sages all over the island...?

Bastion Press's d20 critter book Minions has an giant orcish cyclops called the Boarclops.  I thought that was kinda cute.

Try 3rd ed. Deities & Demigods or Malhavoc's Arcana Evolved. I think they're in Legacy of the Dragons, too.
