This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Following up on this, I saw Kev had posted his 2007 Palladium Open House Report. I was already epically depressed I missed it this year, but hopefully 2008 will work out--I think it has to, somehow.

He sure has a lot to say. :D But I like the larger-than-life personality. I've been rummaging around the Palladium site and boards in the past few days, and the grass-roots vibe of it all is really exciting.

I didn't know you were famous, Zach? He thanks you somewhere in some other recent press release. Do you know if there Megaversial activities in the Bay Area--games for noobs, in particular?

Well, I'm glad you're excited by it! Like any group of fans, you definitely have your rules lawyers and one-true-wayers, but for me, there's an enthusiasm about Palladium, a roll-dice-drink-mountain-dew-and-have-mad-crazy-fun kind of vibe I love. Rifts isn't a game that's meant to stand up to heavy critique or deep rational thought--like most of Palladium games, it has a "Hey! Check out this awesome shit!" sort of innate style. And that's what I want out of my games and gaming companies--people who are as excited about what they're writing and the thought of folks playing and enjoying it as the players and readers themselves.

Well, right now, I can't think of any Bay Area events going on. Novastar (you can look him up on the Palladium boards or RPGnet) is in that area, I believe. I'm not sure what his schedule is, but if you'd like to set up a demo, I can see what we can do. PM me info, if you'd like to host it at a local FLGS, set it up at a local con, etc., and we'll do our best. I'll also be running Rifts for anyone who asks at GC Indy this year, no tickets needed. :)

If your looking for a pally game in the bay area. Maybe you should PM Erik Wujcik. I do believe hes in SF. See if he is running game somwhere. Or knows of anyone running something near you.

Are you going to be at GallowsCon?

I was considering the possibility of going to that.
Now Prepping: One-shot adventures for Coriolis, RuneQuest (classic), Numenera, 7th Sea 2nd edition, and Adventures in Middle-Earth.

Recently Ended: Palladium Fantasy - Warlords of the Wastelands: A fantasy campaign beginning in the Baalgor Wastelands, where characters emerge from the oppressive kingdom of the giants. Read about it here.

My thoughts exactly! I may yet do it, though the only games Erick has announced he wants to run so far are his non-Rifts experimental games. Also, San Rafael is too far from where I live. But still.
