Greetings!
Here are some beautiful Russian people singing "Katyusha" spontaneously in public, on their flight from Moscow to Berlin.
In my own campaigns, I have been inspired to have groups of NPC's embrace such customs of singing in public. It definitely adds some great flavour and detail to the local social environment and culture.

It's interesting that we have an entire entertainment category that's about spontaneous pubic singing called the musical and yet it's utterly verboten in our society.
Makes me think of how Pee Wee Herman proves he is in Texas...

But you can do a flashmob dance/smash&grab...

I love being snarky just as much as anyone, but that straight line is just too easy. Spellcheck, please
I get grumpy on flights at the best of times. But that'd drive me up the friggin wall.

Lol—that is brilliant
Outside of Texas, I would say one's best chance to experience spontaneous singing in public would be Sweet Caroline in Boston. Those people are freaking obsessed.
SHARK, I want to play in one of your games one day. I bet it is a trip..this would have never occurred to me.

I was part of a student choir when I went to college, this is the kind of stuff we would do. So I don't know if these people are randomly or spontaneously bursting out in song as you think. But still kinda cool.
Then again, "Katyusha" are one of those songs
every russian knows.
There was a lot of singing in the Hobbit and even in Lord of the Rings books. Singing should be part of the game, provide help with Saves vs fear or give a morale boost (Zulu for example) as long as the singing continues.
Without TV, internet or radio, I am sure there was FAR more communal singing in the past in probably every culture.
And society was probably more unified for it.

That's why we have sports.
