Hurry up and finish already.  They look drab.

OH WAIT...that's your minis, not mine (I have the exact same painting schedule).

Quote from: Thalaba;477053The schedule change will allow me to form a new group with the mandate of trying out a wide variety of new games for short periods of time. My wish list of games includes Diaspora, RQ6, perhaps In Harm's Way: Pigboats, and a whole host of others (Sorcerer, Beat to Quarters, Agon, Trail of Cthulhu, Shab-al-Hiri Roach - I could go on).

Mwa? I just started writing Pigboats, Thalaba! I haven't even started running an Alpha test yet!

Maybe he's working on his own version :)

One Horse Town

Quote from: Skywalker;477163Chapter 6 was one that probably got the most drastically altered as a result.

Typical! :D

QuoteOn saying that, we did get the Passion Play in from Chapter 6 under a slightly different context and it was wonderful :)

Great. I had a lot of fun writing it.

Quote from: Nightfall;477095Sweet! Details!

The GM is tapping the sessions for pod cast thing...will give link when ready. If it takes him a bit longer then expected I will post a synopsis!

For now lets just say that I am on PC #2...RIP Sgt. Brindle Mossyroc, "shingle runner" supreme and a Halfling of some distinction...and, after an inglorious use as a battering ram (Thanx "Rosco" :o), he got to see that bastard Gadran Lam (sp.?) die violently and get devoured by one of his own pets after helping free his sister Glylea from torture and sure death!!

A proud moment receiving a medal from the Queen and partying with  "Post Master" Mebjak :teehee: and co. after the coronation.

A mysterious bug headed thing took him down on an abandoned rooftop as he performed his (scouting!) duty.
He got in a few licks though...:o

Form the group wisely, make sure you share goals and means.
Set norms of table etiquette early on.
Encourage attentive participation and speed of play so the game will stay vibrant!
Allow that the group, milieu and system will from an organic symbiosis.
Most importantly, have fun exploring the possibilities!

Well at least you didn't die at the hands of chockers. I've seen that happen to a lot of halflings.

Shingle running in Korvosa is pretty awesome.

yeah, managed to avoid them.

Indeed...wish he could have done more of it. Just reached 2 lvl...

4 players in group
Mebjak... H. Alchemist ("Post Master"...indulging in some of his creations...)
Darius...H. Cleric of Gorm (the wrecking crew)
Rosco...H. Fighter (and collecter of fine mustaches)
all of the above are, or in the employ of, the city guard.
and my new PC 'Faeglumm'...H. Rogue, conections to the Cerulean Society.

So far I have enjoyed the adventure and we have a long way to go (we have done approx. 9-10 sessions?)!

Sounds like a lovely crew! :)

My own experiences were mostly from the DM/GM side as I started out on Pathfinder RPG. It was...hit and miss in places. But I honestly thought the first 3/4 books were good.

We had a nice mix, with Grubb, the fighter who also though he could cast spells. (He could. Just not as well as another wizard that showed up.) Then was our life of the party half elf Larin Greenleaf, Cleric of Caedyn Caliean. (Everywhere he went, drunkness and fun followed!) For a time we had a gnomish bard that tried to get someone to carry stuff for her. (Didn't work out for her character or the player...) Then there was the nameless halfling rogue...lasted for 6 levels...before death claimed her. (Spoilers on that so just rest assured Death did her in.) We also had a Varisian bard that ended up being target practice for most lighting spells. (Turn his hair white!)

Anyway it was a fun campaign. I have fond remembrances and plenty of chortles (some at my players' expense...) Otherwise it was pretty darn fun.

Yeah, the chapter in and of itself was fine. I just didn't like how it was placed in the overall campaign. Sorry, I couldn't give a more detailed actual play report :)

I have only nine things to say to that :):

1. It's a wish list, not a to-do list. I also mentioned RQ6 and that hasn't been released yet, either.
2. I never said it would be the first game we played.
3. You write games faster than once a year, so I won't have to wait long for you to publish this one.
4. I like your games, mechanically, from what I've experienced so far.
5. I've been reading your blog and this game intrigues me in particular. Your August 22 blog entry said a thousand words to me.
6. I like the idea of a Red October kind of game, and I can see all kinds of sci-fi applicability, too.
7. Given the group I have in mind to form, there's a good chance pigboats wouldn't be the only game on the docket that hadn't been officially released yet. Although I suspect it would be released by the time we played it.
8. On your next trip to Toronto, you can run it.
9. If I wrote it - you'd be all kinds of dissatisfied.

nice! (lvl.6 and still nameless!?)

As far as Pathfinder goes...this is my first lengthy play...definitely not my favorite system (so far) but the other players have more familiarity so they keep it going when questions arise.
Fun times, lots of laughs with this crew for sure!

Just finished digging up some muck on the Chelaxian Ambassador in the last session.
