This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

So, D&D's 2007 release schedule...

Quote from: Zachary The FirstYeah--if you don't mind, ask them about the state of the RPGA.  What are their most common complaints, do they have any big plans for the future of it, how do they feel it's working, what about the criticism that it's geared towards playing stat blocks and mechanics and not PCs (ok, maybe don't ask that last part)...

That last part is just asinine. :)

Ok, scroll up: RPGA is going extremely well. DDXP itself is the premiere RPGA convention, and theyre getting  lots of new promotional money and effort starting this year. Some marketing people are going to start working with Meetup.com

I'll try and corner one of these guys later and ask him your question, though.

Anything else coming up?

Quote from: KunimatyuIf it's not too much to ask(and assuming nobody else has asked it), could you ask about the status of a Huge Aboleth miniature (it's considered one of the top 3 huge miniature wants)?

I'll seriously ask this.

Q: Someone just asked about the Gelatinous Cube mini. Whats the follow up?

A: "It's not ready yet"

RE: Venger miniature

People are seriously suggesting a "Junior Series" of miniatures for younger players.

A: Wizards are wary of "juvenilizing the brand", but they are looking at starting up some kind of scholarship program connected to miniatures tourneys.

Right now the corporate focus is on Dreamblade (there was a boo that went through the room when he said that!)

Q: Any plans to expand into South American markets? (and I'm not talking about just Mexico)

That's fantastic!  Glad to hear they're doing so well. And thanks for putting in my question.

(BTW, agree on the asinine thing.  Sort of a running joke w/ my gaming group/store, though...)

I'm not asking about tea-towels! ;)

I do have a commemorative mug, though. Right when i checked in, I got a mug, a nice set of dice (like a chessex set- black and red ripple), a pen, and a D&D minis warband-list pad. (I guess it could be used as a notepad..)

Okay, more Q&A:

Q: Why isn't Wizards doing X? (in this case print on demand)

A: "Wizards has a lot of overhead. Theyre big but move slow."

This question is from ENWorld poster 'takasi':

Can they describe the "Legend of Drizz't Scenario Pack?

http://www.amazon.com/D-Icons-Legen...ie=UTF8&s=books

Also, can they give us any ideas on what other Scenario Packs they are considering?

Ok, we're just about to hit 12:00, and we're bogged down in a discussion about how profitable it is to sell maps.

Apparently, not at all!

I think thats it.

Field questions and I'll try and ask them when I see these guys throughout the weekend.

6. How about a d20 'Monster Manual' style bestiary based on the Dreamscape miniatures line?

Q:  What does the WoTC crew do to stay on top and in touch with possible trends in the gaming industry?

Any plans to expand into Latin American markets? (and I'm not talking about just Mexico)

How big is D&D in other continents? (Asia, Latin America)

WAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

That does it.  I'm starting an online campaign to make WotC produce a 20th Aniversary Drizzt tea-towel

Who's with me?

Sounds okay, but I'd rather have some fluffy Demogorgon slippers.

Or even, what about a pair of Vecna gloves (where one glove is 'normal' and the other is skeletal), they could be marketed as giving Cold Resistance 10.

...and Vecna Sunglasses (one glaring red lens).

I think it's interesting that they're going to work with meetup.com.

I've got a couple groups that I run with meetup.com (anime, sf and boardgames), and I'm a pretty big fan of the functionality they provide.  I think the only reason there's not a big D&D meetup here in Denver is because we've already got a few yahoo groups that work really well for that.
