This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

So, I'm working on SMITE! A game that combines some D&D tropes (party, dungeons sort of) with SWAT team tactics and Fantasy "police", so what kind of special weapons should they have regular access to?

Right now each one may have their own special weapon: A Six Shooter/Revolver Crossbow (Gnomish design, I actually figured out how to make it work "realistically" ), a Magically collapsible Long bow (Sniper rifle), what else?

Pocket Battering Ram? (A Figurine wondrous power like device that enlarges to an Iron Goat?)

Nauseating Gas Vials (Tear Gas Grenades)

LeSquide

Floating Eyes. They can go in, scout out an area, and the person who they're linked to gets the info.

Bottled Least Air Elementals. They can't effect people too well, but their damn stealthy...and really, really good at blowing out lamps.

Werekoala

Invisible servants or illusions to distract the bad guys.
Immovable rods for climbing and also to pin bad guys to the wall/floor.

Shields with a transparency spell on them.
Truly Rural dot com my own little hole on the web.

RPG Haven choice.

I like these ideas, gotta trim em a bit.

Magic is  less reliable than standard D&D (makes it more fun), and magic items less common. There are a few special gear SMITE gets all the time, then stuff for special missions. (Healing Potions, for emergencies, common weapons, silver daggers, wolfsbane, garlic as needed, Warded Manacles...)

Anti-Magic.
Some kind of Spell Resistance devices.

At the moment, it looks like I'm going with a variant of 4C, but I flip flop back and forth with this other unfinished game. :D
