Unlike the other Pundit Settings, Lion and Dragon and Invisible college, which have tight but limited Skill systems, there isn't one in Baptism of Fire (other than roll vs DC and add a background bonus). What's up w/ that.
In Baptism of Fire the skill system is identical to L&D in practice. Neither of the two books have a "list" of skills, meaning that the DM can theoretically make any number of other skills similar to the ones that appear in different parts of the book.
In some ways the BoF skills are a little more structured, because several classes have a "skill list" for that class (skills that the characters can gradually gain as they level up).
