This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Sitting in the FLGS is boring when...

Nightfall

You're expecting to play AND possibly get people info on Carrion Crown...

Though I'm still holding off until Ultimate Combat is released.

Atm I have one alchemist (gender and race undefined) and a half ogre melee guy.

is boring when....

Some dude blathers incessantly about some character he has for the game you are playing that is so much better than any of the other characters in any of the games that you are currently playing. Furthermore, the only way any group is going to survive whatever game they are playing is if they are as good as the character he is blathering incessantly about. Which is impossible, because the blatherer is a legend of gaming beyond compare should you believe his bilge. Which of course I would not.

But it is still boring.

Nightfall

See I just don't think that highly of my characters usually. Even the great Bla'yne Nightfall of Shelzar doesn't wash for me. :P :)

I can tolerate this sort of annoying behavior at gaming store.

I have zero tolerance for this sort of behavior when it is done at my home/apartment.  All sorts of things leading to major bad behavior after a huge disagreement or argument, such as:  guys throwing stuff around (ie. soda cans, beer bottles, etc ...), kicking in the walls, etc ...

True story: Back in the 'olden' days of 3.0, one our friends who had this obsession of doing paladins that ALWAYS went blackguard, ended up nearly killing me. The scenerio: some demon cast Reverse gravity and a lot of the party ended up in ceiling because of it. I tried to close the door in the room he was in. The paladin/blackguard decided he didn't like that. So he charges at me, and ends up dropping the door on me. To stop me from being killed, the party arcane caster (his girlfriend at the time no less!), cast disintegrate on him. He failed his save and went poof! My friend at the time made some off hand comment that I can't recall. Then the guy with the paladin/blackguard got mad and threw an ashtray at my friend, nearly hitting him and me.

In a gaming store...this hasn't happened. :P ;)

I suspect some people behave better in public, than behind closed doors at home.  More witnesses in a public place.

That and mall cops. Though I'm sure the real cops aren't that far behind.

As well as multiple security cameras which record everything.

Nightfall

Actually I don't think Four Horsemen Gaming and Comics has cameras. That being said, it's kind of hard to smuggle out boxes of Warhammer 40k and some of the D&D stuff. Comics...well they generally are pretty observant.

When I had one my FLGS was never boring.

It was downright disturbing with all the crazies but never boring.

Ian,

That's probably because you didn't have plenty of crazy MtG players sitting next to you...

Thank god I've never been the guy who goes on about his RPG characters... especially not in terms of their mechanical abilities.

Really, the worst gamer behavior I've seen all comes from the wargaming side... and from games of Diplomacy.

I'm thinking you're more of beer drinking while rolling dice.

Yeah it's funny but considering there were two universities and a Public School in town there weren't that many cardboard crack players.

I met about 3 in 4 years.

They tried to teach me how to play but with no luck or awarness of stratagey I was easy meat!

Yeah well they're kind of everywhere where I live. Probably because bible belt influences don't extend to cards. (Go figure.)
