This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Alright here is what I bought at GenCon last weekend:

GURPS: 4th Edition DUNGEON FANTASY 1: ADVENTURERS (POD book)
GURPS 4th/e      DUNGEON FANTASY 2: DUNGEONS
GURPS 4/e        DUNGEON FANTASY 3: THE NEXT LEVEL
GURPS 4/e        DUNGEON FANTASY 4: SAGES

Their booth had a 3 for $10.oo sale on other older GURPS stuff , so I got:
1 copy of Traveller DECK PLAN 1: BEOWULF-CLASS FREEE TRADER
2 copies of Traveller DECK PLAN 3: EMPRESS MARAVA CLASS FAR TRADER

THREE Pink  6-sided Dice from the Cubicle 7 booth/table to help out that little girl.

From the Lou Zocchi/GameScience booth:

Huge Color map of City State of the World Emperor.

Blank numbered hexpaper sheets(VERY close to the GURPS size/spacing)

From Crystal Caste:

Prepainted miniatures from their Elfsera line. Appears to be in the box: A Ranger, A wizad with a staff, Another Ranger in a darker cloak, dwarf and a halfling.

Yeah - its looking like mostly a Fantasy game at this point.

Generic fantasy...

WITH SPACESHIPS.

I don't think I'd run it, but hey, whatever works.

We can leave out the starship deckplans if we have to.

Its just one of them things - if you're a TRAVELLER fan you can never have too many deckplans.

I was just kiddin' :)

You have to make use of those three pink dice, however. Make up some kind of rule where they're necessary.

Not for nothing, but why not go this route? O this massive, city-sized ship 20 centuries of breeding and being trapped on this ship has regressed the people to a quasi-medieval mentality/tech level. Only the sacred "Pilot's Guild", a masonic-style group, remembers how to work the technology keeping the ship alive, but they only know the rote actions, not why and how things work. Think WH40K. Technology is considered magical. The Captain uses a feudal style of government to keep things in order, parceling out land to loyal warriors who do the same. There's no money so everything is based on barter or scavenging.

I'm picturing a fantasy Mad Max on a cluttered, dirty, and barely functioning space craft. And what happens when they finally get to where they're going 30 sessions into the game?

Does anyoner have the original JUDGES GUILD adventure that went along with the map for the City State of the World Emperor.??

I ask because now that I have that map I'm getting curious about the adventures or campaign that were connected to it.

Zocchi must have been holding onto forever - because its so old paper wise that I have to giongerly unfold it when I want to look at the whole thing. VERY tempted to try and scan parts of it to save to my computer ....but I'm not sure what the coyright rules on this one are.  After all, JUDGES GUILD is out of business - right?

Lou does. He wanted a c-note for it at Origins. They are rare, hard to find, and expensive now. really expensive.

City State of the World Emperor includes two of the 11x17 campaign maps for the Wilderlands setting. It's the only two campaign maps from the setting that I currently don't own.
Blackmoor grew from a single Castle to include, first, several adjacent Castles (with the forces of Evil lying just off the edge of the world to an entire Northern Province of the Castle and Crusade Society's Great Kingdom.

I've got it (bought it when it first came out).  It's not for sale btw.  What can I do to help you with this?

Yevla

Sir, theres only one thing to run with a collection like that.

clearly, a game of GURPS: Expedition to the Barrier Peaks is in order!

Blackhand

All that stuff taken together suggests some Spelljammin' to me.
Blackhand 2.0 - New and improved version!

Opaopajr

Yeah, GrimJesta and Blackhand already said what vein I was thinking about.

Basically run them through Phantasy Star 3: Generations of Doom. Enormous ship with 7 biodomes large enough to hold near continent-sized tracts of land. Throw in elaborate "dungeons" that interconnect the biodomes and let the players figure it out. You could even rip the plot wholesale, with two artificial moons, mechmonsters v. biomonsters, generations devolved into petty feudal states forgetting that they are on a ship, etc. Great setting ripe for exploration.

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.
